Knowing my husband doesn't usually like salmon, I recently bought this in place of our regular tuna... I thought it was worth trying because I adore the product, so it was a treat for me.I opened a can and was pleasantly surprised to find that the salmon inside wasn't awful at all for being canned. I actually had to force myself to quit eating the entire can in one sitting.As a result, I made some straightforward tacos that evening for dinner without any taco sauce and topped one of his with some of this. Surprisingly, when I told him it was salmon, he didn't believe me! He also adored it!I'll now be keeping an eye out for a price drop or to see if I can buy it in our neighborhood grocery stores. I adore Subscribe and Save and Prime Pantry, but these prices do strike me as a little high. I ordered 7 cans of these after seeing a "add-on" amazing price discount. I've only opened one of these so far, but the quality was good, the flesh was more of a grayish beige color, and there was absolutely no fishy scent. The flavor is somewhat subdued, but in terms of texture, taste, and "healthier" mercury levels, it is significantly superior to the supermarket staples "Chicken of the Sea and/or Bumble Bee" brands. They mention fishing in Japan, which worries me because they don't highlight the area's severe radioactive poisoning, which affects both people and marine life.
