I intended to swap out my old, ugly hinges for elegant, recessed soft-close European hinges, but the required woodworking was somewhat challenging for someone without a shop or the necessary tools. I researched this jig online by reading reviews and perusing the extremely thorough instructions before placing my order. I'm really happy with how the jig turned out and how well it functioned!With the use of this jig, I changed a total of forty hinges on 20 different doors in a matter of days without experiencing any issues. The Blumotion compact soft-close hinges that I used were the perfect fit for the large hole and two smaller pilot holes that the jig includes for the mounting screws. The accompanying forstner's bit was still sufficiently keen to pierce the strong oak of our cabinet doors after 40 hinges.It required some consideration and care to address a few minor flaws. The jig has a collar that cannot be adjusted to provide a depth of less than 1/2 inch, despite our hinges' specifications calling for a 7/16-inch depth for the 35mm hole. I reduced the hole depth to around 7/16 inch by wrapping a piece of electrical wire between the collar and the jig, and this produced good results. Second, our hinges required a 20.5mm setback from the edge of the door to the center of the 35mm hole, but the jig's setting of 3mm for the offset to the edge of the hole produced a setback that was slightly higher than 21mm. The jig did not reach the largest portion of the door profile, and the door edge was not flat. The mistake caused by these two problems was roughly 1 mm, which was negligible enough to overlook given that the hinges have plenty of adjustment space.Make sure you have a sturdy worktable and enough clamps to hold the door to the table and the jig to the door before attempting to do this task on your own. Spend some time measuring each hole twice. To install these hinges, you don't need to be a skilled woodworker.

The good news is that these hinges are an exact match for the ones that were put in when our kitchen was renovated 13 years ago. The original hinges were marked 110 on the metal, while the plastic on the back was marked with a different code, 30.310-11.02. The replacement 33.3600 hinges have a similar appearance to the originals, completely fit into the existing holes, and mate with the metal components on the cabinet frame. It took roughly 90 seconds to swap out a hinge. The bad news is that the new hinge is made of the same metal and plastic as the previous one, and that the hinge pin's black plastic cap appears to be the weak spot in this design. The plastic at that location invariably fractures and sends a little, curved piece of plastic flying out when the hinges malfunction. After that, the hinge is still functional but each time it shuts, it produces a loud popping noise. This has occurred on a few of our hinges. The hinges on my parents' cabinets, which are a different manufacturer but have a similar zinc plastic design, also experienced the same issue. The zinc hinges will endure forever, but the plastic looks to start to break down after around seven years, thus it appears that this design is popular yet defective. So much for the metal plastic design, but bravo to Blum for maintaining the physical specifications so that hinges can be changed quickly, readily, and affordably when they break.

I therefore rarely write reviews. However, I had a great time at this party. The European style hinges on my house have been breaking for approximately four years, and I haven't been able to get any replacements at the neighborhood orange and blue big box stores. About 20 years ago, when my house was being built, the hinges had the code H3JQ on the frame plate and, I believe, the 4CQA door portion. I did some research online, and I found out that the orange box no longer contains them.Before I found these, I tried a lot of different approaches. The parts are directly interchangeable, so they fit well. Long-term quality I can't vouch for, however right now they look to be of decent quality.I am also aware that some people received pieces that were different from those shown in the pictures. I was mainly exempt from that. They were just like the photo, even though I didn't get any Blum bits.Good fortune!

50 pack arrived extremely quickly. The loud pounding sound that my cabinet doors made every time I closed them drove me insane; stop bashing shut cabinets now. I swear they seemed to increase louder after I tried to replace the tiny bumper pads. One source of life's frustration has been eliminated by these fantastic closures. On roughly half of my cabinets, I installed these the same day they arrived, and they function great. Even though several posts claimed that replacing only the upper and lower hinges worked, I saw a change when I inserted the third hinge, even though each door has three hinges. In order to prevent the corner cabinets from slamming against other cabinets or the stove-top hood, I also realized that the 105 degree angle was too much for them. As a result, I will replace them later with 95 degree angles. In any case, they are fantastic and make a huge impact. Taking off all the plastic caps does take some time, but the hinges look to be well-made, and I would suggest this seller and these hinges to anyone.

My lazy Susan cabinet's DTC165A48 hinges have a good replacement. The frame bracket cracked after a few years of use on the DTC product since it is cast. I think it's a Chinese product that has been discontinued. On a frameless cabinet, this item from Amazon worked for me (165 degrees). I didn't mind that the holes on the bracket didn't match the holes on the original bracket because those holes were already worn from opening the old hinge repeatedly when it got loose. I simply put the new hinges in place, marked the holes with a pencil, and drilled the holes in the new places. If you have a mechanical bent, really simple. In comparison to the DTC product, the bracket's mounting holes are further back. Some people can have a problem with this if their frameless cabinet is constructed of several sections and the holes line up with a joint. On mine, I was fortunate. I like the product and would suggest it for a DTC 165A48 replacement, but keep in mind that the holes will not be in the same places as the originals.

Much better than spring-loaded snap-shut hinges, this one has a great soft closing feature. I found a technique to install these in around 45 minutes after reading all the helpful installation reviews.1. Before removing the face panel, mark the right and left edges, as well as the top center, with masking tape to use as a guide. This enables you to reassemble the panel with the panel in the exact same relative location.2. Remove the panel and 3/4" of masking tape inside "the face's outside frame. with a 1/4 "Mark the locations of the screw holes, place a piece of masonite as a spacer, place the hinge on top of the spacer, flush with the cabinet face.3. Use a 3/32 bit to pre-drill pilot holes "Hinge installation on the left and right sides.4. On either side of the cabinet opening at the hinge, I added some double faced foam tape. Additionally, I covered the place where the hinge will attach to the panel's backside using masking tape.5. I then covered the double sided tape with the panel and added more masking tape for reinforcement in case the foam tape came away. To ensure that the panel is back in its original place, realign your reference markings.6. Now for the exciting bit. Using one finger, gently press the hinge tab on the panel's back side from underneath the cabinet, and with the other hand, mark the hinge hole locations with a Sharpie. The masking tape support will grab and hold the panel if it dislodges or pulls away from the double faced foam tape. Check your alignment once more, then try again. A headlamp and a little perseverance are helpful.7. Remove the panel after marking the back with a 3/32" drill bit "drill only a few pilot holes, taking care not to go all the way through. Run a screw through each of the four holes you just drilled to pre-thread them.8. Using a 1/4" or a stubby Phillips head screwdriver "Install one screw in each hinge using a ratchet wrench and a Phillips bit, keeping the hinge slack enough to move but securely fastened.9. After adjusting if necessary, close the panel and check the alignment. Install the remaining two screws after properly tightening the first two screws.10. The challenging part is now finished. Install the tray and the cabinet pull handle.On a 36, I added this "broad sink panel that opens and closes without a hitch. For further house projects, I'll be ordering three more sets. I initially tried the universal lid assist sold at big-box hardware stores, but it had a number of issues: (1) the lid would not open all the way; (2) the assist pulled the top so that it hit the side wall when closing; (3) the tension was too much or the lid was not heavy enough, so it stayed open about an inch; and (4) installation was difficult because it had to be done with the lid at a 62 degree angle (or something like that). With this SafeStay Lid Stay, I have taken the place of that initial assist, and I am quite pleased. The installation was extremely simple because of the design, the motion is very smooth, the lid fully opens, there is no torque on the lid, and it opens a full 90 degrees (it would open further, but I have a wall behind my built-in). I've included a picture of the chart that was given with the stay because there is a minimum-maximum weight rating based on the lid height. Follow the markings on the insert for a simple installation. Consider placing the first mounting bracket (center) on the lid of a normal overlay hinge 118 mm from the bottom and 11 mm from the edge, and the mounting bracket inside with the upper left hold at 72 mm from the back and 34 mm down from the top. It works fine if you do this. The lid will stay open until you push it down, then it will descend gradually.I've also provided the measurement-accompanied image. To fine-tune the arm length after installation, the device also incorporates a really beautiful adjustment screw mechanism. I only used one arm in the linked video, and my lid was a piece of 3/4" plywood that was roughly 18" broad by 32" long.
