Every metal slate in the bed could be felt when lying on it before this foundation was added. The issue was resolved and the mattress is now comfy once this item was added. These are the bunk beds I purchased for my grandchildren. The mattresses require support as the youngsters grow and gain weight. I rarely, if ever, give things five stars. It was a fantastic experience!In order to lower the height of the bed for my mother, who just injured her hip, I bought this frame to convert my current full-size frame. The delivery was quite speedy, and the box was in perfect shape. Instead of opening one end and pulling everything out, I opened the box on the ground by cutting along the tape with a razor blade. With all the pieces clearly marked and visible as it sat in the open box on the floor, I thought it was the best approach to go about it.I really like the Zinus numbering scheme. With the exception of checking inventory, I didn't even need to look at the instructions. The numbers must be matched before assembly. I discovered that it was simpler to construct in place by first laying one of the long rails on top of my preexisting frame. This enabled me to verify sizing, which in my instance was a great fit, as well as retain the Zinus rails in place.Assembly is made simple with Zinus! There is no need for additional tools because they also supplied a tiny ratchet with the allen wrench. The hardware was of high quality, and it came pre-equipped with lock washers and washers to keep the frame snug when put together properly.Two sets of pre-folded hardwood slats are included, and they have pre-installed velcro closures. Nothing could be simpler! It doesn't matter which end of the frame you line up the first slat with the pre-installed velcro; just do it. Then, apply each slat in turn, working your way down the frame to the center. Along each end of the slats, a single long velcro strip is used to hold each group of slats in place. Therefore, there is no hassle or measuring.It was all put together in a short while! Additional advice:1. Since my previous frame was only 3/4 boxed in, this insert can fit on top of it. I simply used one self-tapping metal screw to fasten the frame and insert in place after drilling one pilot hole on either side of the foot end of my old frame. This is merely a safety measure to stop the new metal insert from moving forward and colliding with the current frame. Although I doubt it will ever happen, it is better to be safe than sorry.2. I began at the opposite end of the insert frame and worked my way to the centre while putting the second set of slats down. The slat alignment turned out to be ideal! Just remember to step away from the insert frame's center to secure the final slat!Additionally, Zinus gives thorough instructions and a few additional bolts that I didn't need to use. This product clearly deserves five stars for its high quality, practicality, and clear design. Really, I couldn't be more pleased!

You'll need at least three strong cross pieces underneath this with a typical metal bed frame, though more is preferable. Actually, what you're receiving here is more of a platform for your mattress than a bed support system.
