When I discovered the risks of rawhides, I came upon "bully sticks." My two adorable Shih Tzu ladies have a nighttime routine that includes receiving a rawhide stick every single night. This is how I first discovered about dangerous substances in dog treats, faulty dog equipment, etc. According to what I can tell, the main criticism is that the product is made in Argentina. I can see how this could be upsetting for some people, but in my opinion, if there isn't a recall, the ingredients are good, and my dogs seem to enjoy it, why not? We received our bully sticks around four days ago. Since then, I've used them in place of the rawhide. There haven't been any stomach upsets, changes in fecal consistency, vomiting, or other unpleasant symptoms. The bully sticks don't adhere to hands or furniture and have a very light scent. When you open the bag, you might smell it briefly before it disappears. This is a big deal to me. In the past, I've messed up and created some fairly foul-smelling things that remained in the home all day. My girls spent some time playing with the bully sticks as well. If your dog is an adult and you need to keep them occupied for a while, this would be an excellent treat for them.Even my finicky eaters enjoy it. I'll continue to monitor how things go while keeping this as a part of our evening routine. Hope this is useful to someone! You all be careful!

This is my first time purchasing this item, but I felt the need to do so after my dog started trying to ingest larger portions of his beloved puppy Nylabones. He has used it for about 45 minutes so far, and it appears that it will take him a lot longer to make any significant progress. These are a little bigger than I had anticipated, but I decided bigger was better for a 30 pound puppy at just 4 months old, especially considering that all of the reference/review photographs of the smaller ones were of tiny breed dogs. For my Catahoula, who has boundless energy and a desire for stimulation, I'd say it has been well worth the money so far.What I like best about the chew is that it doesn't break off in bits that he could swallow whole or choke on. He chews on it till there is a mushy bit on the end that eventually falls off and may be eaten. I'm not sure if it would be different if a huge breed dog had adult teeth, but when he develops further, I will update the review if necessary.

The smell, flavor, and chewability are all things my huge boxer adores! Sadly, he consumes them in around 5 minutes as opposed to the 30-45 minutes it takes most of his canine companions to do so. Yes, I believe it is very disgusting to give your dog a bull's penis to chew on, and the sticks certainly smell; but, this is by far his favorite treat.
