Dijon mustard and brown mustard are both made from mustard seeds, but the two types of mustard have different flavors. Dijon mustard is milder than brown mustard, and it also has a sweeter taste. If you're making a recipe that calls for brown mustard, you can substitute Dijon mustard, but the dish will have a different flavor.
There's no real substitution for brown mustard. The two have different flavor profiles, with brown mustard being spicier. If you're in a pinch, you can use yellow mustard, but it won't taste the same.
Dijon mustard is a type of mustard that originates from the city of Dijon, France. It is made with brown mustard seeds and white wine, and has a smooth, creamy texture. Dijon mustard is less spicy than brown mustard, but has a more intense flavor. You can use Dijon mustard in place of spicy brown mustard in recipes, but you may need to add a little extra to compensate for the difference in heat.
Brown mustard is a good source of selenium, a mineral that has been shown to have cancer-preventative properties. It is also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health.

This French's Spicy Brown Mustard is fantastic. It has a deeper, more savory mustard flavor with a blast of spicy flavor instead of being as tangy as a regular mustard. works well with sauces like mayonnaise and others. This goes well with salads, sauces, hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, and other foods. This is what I frequently substitute for dijon.

Gulden's spicy brown mustard
Twelve ounce bottle
$234
Over the past 50 years, I have used spicy brown mustard; nearly half of that time has been with this particular brand. It has been determined by my needs and availability. My diet does not allow as many cold cuts and other stuff that I would use mustard on now that I am older. In the home where I was raised, yellow salad mustard was not frequently encountered. In addition, I spent a significant portion of my life in areas where excellent delis were the norm and many of them had a house specialty.

100th Anniversary Edition of Nathans Famous Original Coney Island Deli Style Mustard
$234
The best-tasting mustard I've ever had. Typically, I don't use mustards. The best-tasting hotdog ever may be made by mixing this with Nathan's Hotdogs, Onion Sauce, Red Pepper Sauce, and raw onions. Microwave for 7 to 15 seconds. Normally, I don't consume or enjoy eating hotdogs. Even though I've always preached against them, good taste is good taste. I'll consume less food to maintain my health.

Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard, 12 ounce Bottle (Pack of 2)
$234
Since I first learned about Gulden's mustard in the 1970s, I've been using it. It has just the right amount of creamy richness and crisp "mustard" flavor without being overly so. While I enjoy Grey Poupon as well, I think it's a little too "biting" for everyday use. For me, Gulden's seems to achieve the ideal balance.Keep an eye on the pricing as it changes. The cost per bottle was roughly what my grocer charges when it's not on sale when I bought it. It's worth the extra money to have it delivered to my door, but your results may differ. Since I'm single, it takes me a while to finish a bottle, so I prefer the option of getting 2 bottles instead of a case. This way, I can finish the bottle before it goes bad. Yay!Overall, this has made me extremely delighted because it is good mustard at a reasonable price. Nothing else is necessary, really.

The original Spicy Brown Mustard
a favorite of connoisseurs for over 50 years
Kosciusko spicy brown mustard goes great with deli products, hot dogs, brats and sausages
$234
I'm glad I can get this stuff on the west coast. The only commonly accessible alternative, Kraft's "Grey Poupon," is so much better in my opinion than plain "yellow" mustard and more affordable (and better, in my opinion).I've already given away a few jars to friends in the area.

Spicy Brown Beer Mustard
Kosciusko
9 oz
$234
At least for me, the mustard holy grail. I've been attempting to replicate the taste of east coast deli mustard for years and have probably tried twenty different kinds, ranging from fancy and pricey to boutique to corporate brands. This one stops short of a Dijon but still has the tart sting that brings out the flavor of the meat. It has the perfect amount of smoothness and bite. Not at all grittly; thank you, no discernible mustard seeds in the ground, and no sweetness. Exactly right. So that I don't run out, I just purchased a three-pack. The only negative is that I would have preferred a larger size of the goods. Because it's so amazing, I'll keep purchasing this bad boy even if the photo makes it appear much bigger than it is.

Two 12 oz. bottles of Arizona Heat Mustard
$234
The best mustard is made by Koops, so when my favourite flavor—Arizona Heat—quickly vanished from the shelves of my neighbourhood supermarkets, I hurried to Amazon in the hopes of finding it. I got a few of them in the hopes that the flavour and freshness would be the same, and they were. The mustard has a robust, creamy flavour that is wonderfully balanced with a hint of spice and sweetness towards the end. I adore this mustard so much!
There are a few key differences between brown and yellow mustard that may impact their healthfulness. First, brown mustard seeds are larger than yellow mustard seeds. This may impact their nutrient and antioxidant content. Second, brown mustard is less processed than yellow mustard. This means that brown mustard likely has more beneficial compounds, such as phytonutrients, than yellow mustard. Finally, brown mustard generally has a stronger flavor than yellow mustard. This may make it a better condiment for some, but it may also make it more likely to be overused. Overall, both brown and yellow mustard are healthy
Dijon mustard is a popular type of mustard that originates from the city of Dijon, France. It is made from a combination of brown and yellow mustard seeds, vinegar, wine, salt, and spices. The result is a mustard that is slightly tangy and sweet, with a sharpness that comes from the mustard seeds.
No, GREY Poupon is not brown mustard. It is a Dijon mustard, which is a type of French mustard that is made with white wine and brown mustard seeds.
The two types of mustard are made from different seeds. Stone ground mustard is made from brown mustard seeds, while regular mustard is made from white mustard seeds. The flavor of stone ground mustard is more intense, and it has a coarser texture.
There are a few different substitutes that can be used for brown mustard. One option is to use Dijon mustard, which has a similar flavor but is more mild. Another option is to use a mixture of yellow mustard and horseradish, which will give the same general flavor but may be more or less spicy depending on the horseradish used. Finally, some people prefer to use wasabi paste as a substitute, which will give the dish a more distinct flavor but may not be as close to the original taste as the other options.
