Kitten adores these to the hilt. She is far more likely to finish all of her wet food this way because I use them as a food topping. If I hadn't been inspired by a Japanese cat blogger I read (Stray Cat J-san! ), I probably wouldn't have thought of them. But if you're attempting to feed a cat who has been ill and lost her appetite, they're actually a blessing. I believe they are effective at luring cats to food. About 8 years ago, I began giving my cats shaved bonito as a special treat. I tried a few different brands and like Cat Man Doo. Later on this year, I came across this brand on Amazon and decided to give it a try because the pricing was so affordable. The cat man doo was quite expensive with my three cats and the various numbers that I foster.It was a wise choice. Big flakes are present. They are properly wrapped, and there is barely any crumbling. And all of my kitties adore them. with fervor. The cats line up on the coffee table every night before going to bed. They lick the bowl clean after I feed them each a little bowl of the flakes. I adore that I can offer them a substantial amount because the pricing is so low.

This will now be my go-to dashi base, I have finally determined. I mostly use it as the base for miso soup, but I also use it to make the bases for ramen and udon noodles. But I usually choose the Ajinomoto jar. It costs almost twice as much but lasts longer.Because the jar costs almost twice as much as these sachets, I was always debating between the two (Ajinomoto always!). The jar, however, keeps my dashi fresher. Consequently, it lasts longer.I use a third to a full teaspoon of dashi per cup of water. 1 teaspoon for me, 1/3 for my girls, and 1/2 for my wife. Then I add 1 to 2 tablespoons of miso paste. White for the children, 1 tbsp each of white and red and 2 tbsp of red for the wife.I'll heat up the dashi, add any vegetables, turn off the heat, and then stir in the miso.Anyhow, dashi powder is between 85% and 90% as good as bonito flakes. The only time I'll purchase the sachets is when I'm cooking for a large group of friends. Otherwise, I find that if I don't use the entire sachet within a week to a week and a half, it starts to lose flavor and begins to taste like my refrigerator. I have no problems storing the jar for months at a time.Purchase with assurance!

These were purchased for my food-obsessed cat. She was a rescue, and when I acquired her, she was very overweight. I changed her food to one that is much healthier, and I also fed her several times throughout the day to prevent her from eating too quickly and throwing up.I read that this product would be a suitable solution online. I've experimented with feeding the flakes both wet and dry. She doesn't seem to mind if I add JUST A LITTLE water to the flakes, but if they get too wet, she seems to want nothing to do with them. She also dislikes them when they are completely dry.Although I was looking for something with no added sodium, I decided to buy this one instead of the sort developed especially for cats because I'm on a budget and would rather spend my money on high-quality food than fillers, treats, or snacks.I had hoped that this would keep her full in between feedings, but so far it only lasts about 20 minutes until she starts pleading for food.Overall, the stuff is fresh and exactly as was promised. among all the ads I found, the best value for the money.

This is great for making quick miso soup, which is why I first bought it. Since then, I've learned that it can give just about anything tasty a salty, umami flavour. It tastes very delicious when used to season an Asian-style salad dressing (lemon or lime juice, a little rice vinegar, some samba oelek pepper sauce, some water and a good bit of sugar). Compared to this granular Hon Dashi, the liquid concentrate is very different and, in my opinion, preferable. Hon Dashi is still incredibly impressive.

We both eat these Bonito Flakes straight from the bag every day because they are so wonderful! They arrived in excellent shape (large thin flakes that have a very fresh scent, proving the flesh was sliced when it was firm and just-caught). I've been canning, smoking, freezing, and cooking West Coast albacore tuna, which is similar to bonito, for decades. I had the honor of serving as the cook for the two-man crew on a special schooner/troller in the 1970s that was outfitted to long-line these swift and impressive fish 200 miles off the Pacific coast. On deck, the fish was gutted, cleaned, and then placed in the hold to swiftly cool. When fish are treated with care in this way, the end product doesn't taste or smell anything like "commercial" store-bought tuna. (The Kirkland brand from Costco is the closest I could find.) These "genuine stuff" flakes make fantastic broth, soups, and a variety of other Asian and Polynesian cuisines. When I come inside from the extremely cold weather we've had in the Georgia Mountains (of all places), just melting a few delicious flakes on my tongue gives me an instant protein surge, and my amusing cat sprints up

My cat repeatedly turned her nose up at these until I repeatedly put one in her mouth until she understood it was fish. She may have been confused by the paper-like texture before realizing that it rehydrates in your mouth. She now adores them. Your cat could need some persuading. These are significantly more affordable and come in a lot larger bag, so I prefer them over freeze-dried snacks. outstanding flake quality.

After trying the other flavors from this company, I've decided that this is by far my favorite. I've discovered that these ingredients are essential for keeping my family interested in the steamed rice we eat with supper, which they used to complain about as taste "bland," as someone who only prepares traditional Japanese meals.
