For a 3-car garage, we used a 20W UV flood light and an 18W UV bar. Glow tapes, neon balloons, fluorescent sheets (which, if you're crafty, you could cut into various patterns like animals, stars, or abstract shapes with), neon paints, and fluorescent papers seem like good options to me (optional but will be fun if you plan to do some face paiting). Be mindful with your choices because there is a significant difference between good and bad glow decorations. A few dollars more are well spent because high-quality fluorescent materials can glow (in the dark) from 20 feet away. Additionally, some opaque plastic glasses and plates as well as cotton T-shirts (particularly white T-shirts) will illuminate. I purchased these as I'm a filmmaker and am preparing to shoot the psychological horror film CAT 6. But because some hues and substances fluoresce under UV light, a blacklight can be both helpful and entertaining.I purchased 3 bulbs to compare:Sunlite 20 Watt Spiral Energy Saving CFL Light Bulb Medium Base Blacklight Blue Light ItUP Blacklight Blue LED UV Light Bulb Sunlite LED UV 2W A19 Blacklight Blue Bulb with E26 Medium BaseBoth LED lights are the same size as regular light bulbs and only slightly warm to the touch. Because it is larger than a regular bulb and gets hot to the touch, the Sunlite CFL bulb might not be suitable for a small fixture.Each bulb's fluorescent response was roughly the same. However, the levels of visible light were substantially different. The most pristine LED option came from Sunlite, which produced just the right amount of moody deep blue light for reading. (It is definitely not advisable to read by a UV bulb.) The CFL bulb from Sunlite performed admirably and was only little brighter. In contrast, Light ItUp's bulb performed poorly, putting out a lot of odd, unattractive light blue light. This bulb was noticeably worse because a "blacklight blue" bulb is designed to filter out the visible frequencies and beam just the UV.Overall, I'd choose Sunlite's CFL variant for "party bulbs." Choose the LED bulb from Sunlite for the clearest UV response.

These are the top blacklights in the cfl style currently on the market. Sunlite, Feit, Sleeklighting, and Slice of the Moon blacklight CFLs have all been put through their paces. The tested bulbs are between 13 and 25 watts. These are the ones that work the best overall. I prefer not to use the word "bright," as a blacklight that appears bright is not always a good blacklight. A decent blacklight produces little to no visible light and primarily unseen light. The tested CFLs emit a lot of visible light, unlike Mercury HID blacklights and premium tube fluorescents. These outperform the other three evaluated products in that they emit a lot more UV light than visible light. They also better stimulate UV reactive items than the other 3 do. I used ten of these SL20 bulbs for a month, and just one of them failed. The reliability was only matched by the Feit. Nevertheless, a blacklight is more efficient than the Feit. With a narrower tube, the Sleeklighting bulbs are significantly more delicate. I tried out two of them. One snapped while being screwed in. Within roughly three weeks, the other failed. Two Slice of the Moon bulbs were tested. One blew up in a ball of fire the moment I turned it on. The other fell short after 10 days. The most expensive and largest bulb is this one. It produces mostly visible light and only a small amount of blacklight.The fact that the plastic base of these Sunlite bulbs is larger than that of standard CFLs is the only drawback. This restricts the types of fixtures you can use it in.

The strength of this bulb is outstanding, and because of the way it is shaped, it sticks out of the socket a little bit longer for better 360-degree coverage. This bulb is AMAZING. I've purchased one and intend to purchase roughly six more so that one evening I may replace each of my home's lights with these. Perfect if you have blacklight posters and want to illuminate them without having to direct your tube light directly on it, which would reduce the amount of space it covers.
