These lamps shine brightly. The difference is night and day when I changed the 100 W bulb in the basement. The basement needed more light when the 100 watt bulb was first installed, but now, regardless of the time of day, it is well lit. Since the basement is too dark to enter, the youngsters are no longer afraid to go there. To replace the lights in the garage as well, I'll be buying a few more of these. First things first, only one end needs to be powered (hard wired). It is feasible to utilize just one mount, like in the "A" layout, if your table has a light fixture in the center. Because the weight is so substantial, if you don't use the two mounts, be sure your electrical mount can support it. Despite the fact that electricity is only provided to one, I used both supports. I will wait until it is cooler outside to relocate my electricity over about 3 feet. Also, keep in mind that the balls are labelled on both sides. My girlfriend asked me about this before I placed my order, so I didn't realize they were. When the light came on, there was a misunderstanding on our end. Despite the fact that they did nothing wrong, the seller offered to accept the light back. Since the instructions only provided instructions for hanging the light with two holes and two cords, I explained in a letter to them why the light would not be suitable for my specific size requirements. We can only hang a light by one center hole due to the placement of our table in the space. We could actually form the two chains into a single inverted V and hang them both from the same central outlet, according to the seller. Once more, this is NOT an option listed in the instructions. We are delighted with the light and it operates well. Hopefully the manufacturer will take this option into account when writing their instructions.

I'm happy with this light fixture overall. The canopies are too small, which is the only problem. This lamp was mounted from a typical 4" ceiling box. The box is not covered by the canopy, and it is certain that it does not explain the 4" gap between the drywall and the box. The fixture would receive five stars if it had an additional 1/4" in diameter!
