My grandmother's nursing home utilizes Fracture bedpans, which are essentially dustpans. This was much better for her because there are no more messes and she can use it without any issues. It is made of two pieces of plastic instead of just one, which is the only aspect of it that I didn't enjoy. If the seat rim is not thoroughly cleaned out, it may come off and become unclean. This item is excellent. I never anticipated how much I would need anything like this until I became disabled in March 2017. To avoid bed sores, I must use a specific comfort-fit bedpan with pads strategically placed. I've used inflatable bed pans, but all of my caregivers can use this device with such ease. Excellent build quality, no edges that may cut into the skin, extra-sturdy like steel but not freezing cold Even beneath a really large person, I would be shocked if this cracked. It is genuinely comfy in case someone wants to sit for a while. It might be a bit more expensive than the typical bedpan you often purchase, but it is totally worth it. The color is gorgeous, too. Other hues would also be lovely. Yellow, orange, and purple. I enjoy vivid hues. More than one color might be useful when you need to take care of more than one person and want to keep the restrooms separate.

These were purchased for my 88-year-old father, who visits me frequently (I take care of my disabled mother and he wants to be with her as much as possible). Although not in their room, the bathroom is "near" to their room. He must go to the bathroom at least four times each night, but finds it difficult to get up that often. This item was flawless. He unintentionally dropped a previous (thinner urinal with a flip top) and "it" spilled everywhere, so I looked for a different one. They are fairly thick (compared to other ones I bought for him), and the nicest feature of this product is the screw on lid. I will do whatever I can to make my father feel comfortable because he is a very proud man and I know he was embarrassed by that. This definitely made him feel better, therefore it was well worth the money (just my two cents; don't purchase the cheap ones; these are quite good).

Size is a plus. Plastic is of fair grade; it is neither too light nor too heavy. For quicker and cleaner emptying, tops that screw on are preferable than those that snap on. For hanging and access, an angled handle is helpful. I don't recall what I did prior to this score, but I do remember. It was so difficult for me to avoid making a mess because of the terrible lids and poor plastic thicknesses that were sure to leak even when handled carefully.
