Like many other children her age, our five-year-old daughter collects all things soft, cuddly, and adorable. First off, this was more effective than I had anticipated at clearing out some of the soft clutter in my son's room. He is just six years old, so his room doesn't really need to be covered in blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals. In order to make a smooth and soft surface that would be more pleasant for him to rest on or sit on, I primarily used blankets and pillows on the top and bottom, and then I inserted stuffed animals and anything else that is particularly lumpy in between. I packed it full, including a garbage bag full of too-small clothing, yet there was still room. I set everything up such that it would be helpful, but also so that I could unzip it and remove things if necessary. Another problem is that before I showed my son that it zips and unzips and that he could access the contents if he wanted to, he was a little hesitant about placing his stuffed animals inside. (You are aware of how quickly children dispose of items, even those they have never used.) This was a terrific purchase, and I intend to get my goddaughter one since she has a lot of blankets and stuffed animals.

For when my daughter's pals stay the night or when we have visitors staying over, I purchased this wonderful Hide a Mat. The mat measures 30x75" and is 3.5" thick, which was a huge selling point for me because many of the sleeping mats on Amazon were so thin you might as well sleep on the floor. I've slept on this a few times and it's very comfortable and firm, so you don't sink down to the floor on it. It's also rather large so even my 6'0" tall husband can fit on it comfortably with some room to spare.The fold up design makes it easy to store under a bed or in the side of your closet. I also like that it has Velcro straps to hold it shut from unfolding and that it was very easy to put back in the storage bag and zip up. The blue mattress cover is removable and washable, but looks like such a hassle to get back on, so because it's junior twin size, you can easily tuck a twin sheet around it and tuck it under the mattress.

I loved my Lovesac for the five years I owned it, but I detested paying $1000 for the sac and cover. To our great dismay, the Lovesac was destroyed when our two dogs outgrew their puppy stage, despite us having just spent over $200 on a new cover for it. My eight-year-old daughter adores this bean bag chair; she already had one from Home Goods in her room and said that this one is "a lot squishier." My 12-year-old kid claimed that although the yogibo bean bags are firmer, which he prefers, the value for the money is unbeatable. My kid threw herself into our home goods beanbag, which weighs only 5 pounds and is obviously filled with styrofoam, causing her to slide against the wall. This bean bag's stuffing, which is hefty and dense, is more akin to that found in yogibo beanbags. The directions advise breaking up any lumps in the strangely granular filling and giving it two days to totally fluff up. The filling resembles tiny, firm memory foam granules. When I told my kids about the prices, they all agreed that this bean bag is a decent middle ground between expensive and inexpensive bean bags. It does first smell, but it smells like a brand-new sofa. It finally recedes. Actually, I enjoyed it. Although not unpleasant, not everyone perceives smells in the same manner. My bean bag came in just the way it was shown. Although it is not a particularly large bean bag, I will agree with many of the other comments that it is the ideal size for my 15-month-old. We had to remove around half of the form within the bean bag because it was quite full and too rigid for my daughter, but that wasn't a big deal. We just placed the surplus in a big plastic bag and will keep it for future reference. But now when the bean bag is sufficiently loose, it takes the shape of my daughter.
