My 4-year-old was getting extremely frustrated, but my 7-year-old loves perler beads. Although she wanted to participate, she found the clear square pegboards to be too difficult. In order for her to sit next to her brother and work on the same project, I purchased these curved pegboards in the hopes that they might ease some of her aggravation. Thank goodness I did!She is able to completely fill the pegboard and create the shape of what she was attempting to create. She doesn't mind at all that the colors don't always match. We have a tiny girl with rainbow-colored feet and arms wearing an outfit with different tones of pink. She is very smitten with the project she managed to finish with with a little assistance from me. After she had worked on them for 30 minutes on her own, I helped because they were still bigger pegboards for a 4-year-old and their attention span! Because she felt like she was actually completing a pattern with this pegboard in that 30 minutes, she had far more to exhibit than she did with the clear square.If you can help it, I DO NOT RECOMMEND perler beads for children this young. Fine motor skills are still being developed, which makes them frustrating. But if you're like me and experiencing jealousy over an older brother, hopefully this can help lessen the tension.

I got my daughter this as a birthday present. The number and diversity of fuse beads in each color, as well as the templates that were displayed, all caught my attention. The fuse beads are thicker than the others I own in terms of quality. The hues are vivid.The storage container inserts weren't effective for us. I'm not sure if this holds true for all, but the ones we received were uneven, meaning that some were deformed and some were higher than others, preventing the lid from closing. Because of that, we ultimately removed the inserts and combined the beads. Another drawback is that the templates are picked at random and the displayed images are only for display reasons.
