I could smell the fresh paint, and I could see the unpainted pieces via little inserts like the wine container section. I suppose I had hoped for a smoother surface that would be resistant to splashing from bubble bath. When you open the tray wider, your bath is not completely protected. The side sections are not attached at all and are simply sitting on it, which makes it simple to adjust their position. However, I don't see why this is important because it doesn't really matter and I'm afraid that my hands or knees will bump them and knock them into the water. In addition, when I pick it up, I forget that it's detached and it falls out on the floor, so the only way to store it is horizontally otherwise your pieces fall out, which is annoying. The wine glass holder appears to be solid, however the other candle/cup holder is really just an outline with no real space for a cup or other object. The phone holder functions, but modern phones are much longer; I'm not sure why it's so short; however, there is more than enough room and extensions for your laptop or book. I was concerned that my MacBook Pro, which I use, would get quite wet because it won't fit in the laptop slot they left, but I just put it over that and part of the extension and cross my fingers.

I would give this a perfect 10 if I could!I spent a long time looking for a tub tray for my brand-new jetted tub. The standard metal slotted ones were available, the majority of which received negative reviews and allowed a lot of splashing on the underside of whatever was placed on top of them. Then there were bamboo tubs like this, some of which had open holes similar to the metal ones, permitting splashing onto objects once more, and they lacked any sort of anti-skid rubber coating to rest on the tub's edges. I have dreams about a tub tray collapsing into the tub if I accidentally bumped it, etc., and my pricey devices being wrecked because I mostly use my phone and Kindle there. NOT AT ALL.I therefore knew this was THE ONE when I found it. This is why:1. There are no gaps where the major components are located where water could splash up from below.2.
