This item, together with the two additional components described below, assisted in stopping a leak that had been present for several months. My friend advised me to check the pressure balance valve and the cartridge first before tearing off the drywall on the bathroom wall's back side to replace the entire unit. At my neighborhood Home Depot, the cartridge alone cost more over $30. I bought all three parts from Amazon for just a few dollars more than I would have paid at Home Depot for the cartridge alone. This cover overflow cover plate serves its purpose and is attractive. It's substantially lighter than the original plate, therefore I would have given it five stars if it had been constructed of a stronger gauge material. Anyone installing this should be careful not to overtighten the mounting screw as this might theoretically cause the plate to distort.

This tiny object is made of heavy-duty metal. Heavy in both weight and duty. The chrome has a rich appearance, making it obvious that it is a high-quality item. We adore the design. The mounting process was challenging since you need the proper length of a 1/2 threaded nipple coming out of the wall for it to tighten down flush or be secure enough to prevent leaks in your wall. Although I'm not certain, I believe that each of these elbows faces the same challenge. I'm glad that I bought the proper nipple since everything went smoothly and it became fully tight just before it reached the wall.

This style of clamp offers the wall a more finished look by preventing the toilet paper from protruding as far as the type that screws onto the surface of the drywall or plaster. I've used hidden clamps like this and the Donner RC2 variety for more than 50 years. I can't recall if they were all made by Moen or not, but they were all of the same sort. It creates a neater and cleaner appearance for the finished wall. I would advise anyone looking to replace or improve their backing clamps to consider this and the Moen RC2 kind.
