You'll see that the degree of detail is fairly high; it's not even 4K or HD, but if you're using this to watch your child, I think it will be more than enough. As long as you place the camera correctly without any obstructions, it can rotate, pan, and have a decent range, giving you adequate visibility in the area you have. I placed the camera unit on the floor to test it out, but by tilting upward, I could reach the ceiling on the other side of the room.You can use the "zoom" button on the monitor to enlarge the image. I was quite happy when I received this in the mail, and I'm even happier now that it's doing properly. I'll try to make this brief and informative.The slick packaging caught my attention when I first cracked through the Amazon envelope. Similar to how iPhones are wrapped on the inside, this camera fits snugly inside a white box.Most instructions make sense. Despite the fact that they are translated and have difficult wording, setup only took me a few minutes. (If anyone needs it, there is also a YouTube video of two men, I suppose, opening and assembling this. Just use the search bar on YouTube to look up this camera.)It's a pretty good camera! Even with the camera facing down at him, I can see my son breathing, even though it's not an HD video from a dSLR or anything. Which is good news for a new mother.The sound is almost perfect. It's fantastic, at least for someone who has never used a baby monitor before. Any sound in the room is audible to me. Even the sound of my dog calmly entering the nursery or the little, peaceful noises that babies make while they are asleep or just beginning to wake up.The "chat" feature is great! Simply keep holding down the "speak" button on the app, and your voice will be transmitted directly through the camera's microphone without any distortion. My sister-in-law asked me to get this camera so she could use it as a monitor in her son's room. The camera took a long time to install the first time since it couldn't connect to her WiFi. She discovered that her WiFi password was excessively long. When she altered it to a shorter version with fewer special characters, the setup proceeded according to plan with no issues. Install the "YI IOT APP" first since you'll need it to utilize your phone's camera to scan the QR code and enter your WIFI Key (password) to begin the setup. As stated in the instructions, the camera does not support 5G, thus make sure your phone and WIFI are both connected to 2.4G. Everything linked once she scanned the QR code. The camera will announce "WIFI is connected" when it is ready for use. Set up the camera settings to your desire for getting notifications. She had motion and crying detection set up on this device because she was using it for her infant. She appreciates how the camera alerts her through the camera app anytime the infant moves or cries. Because she enjoys viewing her children on her phone while at the gym, she also switches the camera to their family room (of course her husband is watching them). She can communicate with them and is astonished that, despite being a long way away, she can use her phone to rotate the camera 360 degrees. They can hear her clearly and without any hiccups through the speaker, and she can hear people responding to her in the same manner. Just make sure your phone's volume is turned up, she said. Additionally, she can view them in full HD color on her phone thanks to the camera. In spite of the dim illumination at night, she can still make them quite clearly... AWSOME. Before we decided on this monitor, I did a ton of research and review reading to take into account distinct stand-alone video cameras and monitors with separate audio monitors. Here is a list of the top features and reasons why you should buy this one.To keep an eye on his children, my brother bought a standalone HD 1080p video camera. To set it up, you need a WiFi connection, though. With the system they selected, they also need a separate audio monitor solution. Therefore, we have two options: mount the camera on the corner of the crib and secure it there with some Gorilla tape, or mount it across the room and zoom in to observe all we require. Of course, you can also tilt up and down and pan left and right with this device, so you can do whatever you can think of.Additionally, and we didn't realize this as new parents when we purchased this, the most of the time and during the night, you will be paying attention to audio cues. The camera may be turned on at any moment, and it includes options for remaining on for 3 or 5 minutes before going dark or until you press the button to turn the image off once more. The battery life is increased while the camera is off. If you need to keep the audio off, you can still monitor audio activity by looking at the color scale on the left side of the screen, which ranges from red (low level sounds) to green (high volume sounds), depending on the volume the baby makes. Every other night, my wife and I alternate using the monitor. If our son wakes us up first with a sound, we can lower the volume down and keep an eye on the audio level using the led register.You can also dim the screen; we do so at night so that it doesn't entirely light up our bedroom if we wake up to check on him. It illuminates well enough for people to see it outside throughout the day.I could go into even greater depth about both the day and night modes. We spent the following two weeks in the pediatric critical care unit after my baby's apneic spell at the age of eight days, which caused him to desaturate and turn blue. We bought the Owlet because we were afraid to go home because we didn't know if these incidents would recur after being released. Our main concern was being able to monitor my son's heart rate and oxygen levels, so we're delighted about that. The battery life was initially tested by having him wear it continuously throughout the day and night. Since our July purchase (now in late September), we have only used it at night and charged it during the day. If it is not charged for the day, we have ample battery power for the following night. If the location is incorrect or the sock has fallen off, the monitor will play the "Mockingbird" lullaby and turn yellow if it cannot obtain a reading. The same lullaby will play and turn blue if the base separates from the sock, which is one of the two most frequent causes of the monitor turning off. Personally, I don't mind when it happens, but I'm aware that some people do and think it's a "false" alarm. If the baby's heart rate or oxygen level change abnormally, the monitor will flash red and produce a very loud, unpleasant noise to let you know. I switch off the monitor while my child is crying to prevent the monitor from sounding because his heart rate can get quite high when he is sobbing. When a child has a dirty diaper, I also switch off the monitor and take the smart sock off his foot because if I don't, he might dig his foot into the poop. Before removing the sock, don't forget to turn off the monitor using the base or an app. There is no method to alter the pre-set heart and oxygen levels. One thing we discovered while in the PICU was to look at our babies instead of reading the monitor when it goes off to see whether they are actually in distress.The Owlet will either make you adore it or loathe it, to put it simply.

Although I was hesitant about the potential picture quality, I bought this because it had the top reviews and satisfied many of my requirements. When I was deciding which monitor to purchase, the only thing missing was high-quality images. I now comprehend why, as the parent unit's photo does not do it justice. I've added a few that I think are decent, but the actual quality is far better than the image you see. In the hopes that it will provide a better indication of the quality, I also posted a video. How sensitive the temperature population is is one thing that I did not anticipate or consider.
