Best Baby Formula Dispensers & Mixers in 2020

OXO Tot No-Spill Formula Dispenser with Swivel Lid - Teal Review:

I'm a mom of five, the latest being 12 week old twins. I have formula dispensers in 4 different brand names, including this one, and this OXO is by far the best one. In fact, it's the only one that I use, and I ordered a second one too. It is shorter and wider than the others, so it fits better in the diaper bag. The lid simply works better that the others of the same type. To me that is extremely important because as a mom of twins I can't be messing around -- things need to work well and easily, and this ones does! The formula doesn't get stuck in the compartment at all, and the lid spins easily and opens/closes easily. Another thing I like is that the lid attaches snugly to the base, which was not the case with other brands.

One thing that I think could be improved (and this might just be because I have twins) is that I wish that there we 4 compartments rather than 3! I bought a second one of these so that I could have enough with me for 2 feedings per baby, but it would be much better for me if this one container had 4 compartments. One of the other name brands that I have does actually have 4 compartments, but this OXO is so much better that I'd rather carry two of these than one of the other.

Munchkin Smart Blend Formula Mixing Pitcher, Green, 24 Ounce Review:

We love this pitcher! It is so easy to use and makes preparing formula for our premature infant much easier as she requires extra formula powder. Without this pitcher, it is difficult to make, for example, a four ounce bottle for our little one because the measurements to get to the correct calorie don't allow for four ounces. With this pitcher, though, we're able to make enough formula for the whole day and measure out exactly how many ounces we want without having to worry about calculating her formula recipe.

Because you can prepare a day's worth of formula, the pitcher allows the formula to settle and not be as foamy when you prepare a bottle as opposed to shaking it. Would also be great for the pumping momma as the mixing is a very gentle stir!

The only drawbacks I've found are that if you make over about 18 ounces, because the formula does foam quite a bit, it spills over the top pour spout, and that the timing ring doesn't fit tightly, so it is easily turned when using pitcher causing the time mark to be incorrect.

Other than those two small things, we love this pitcher. We can make a whole day or night's worth of formula and keep it in the fridge. Saves us so much time and hassle when our little one is hungry, especially at night. We've bought three of these--we love them so much--and always have one clean.

Formula Dispenser, Kidsmile Twist-Lock Stackable On-the-Go BPA Free Milk Powder Dispenser & Snack Storage Container - 4 feeds, no powder leakage Review:

My overall review is that these are absolutely worth buying if you use formula. We are a breastfed house for the first 15 months and added toddler goat milk formula to our lives so I didn’t know much about formula life. These are WAY better than all of the large 1 circle with pie slice compartments. It was nearly impossible to get all the formula out of those. And if you accidentally flipped the lid open or dropped it..all the formula went everywhere. With these even if you did manage a fumble (not easily done), you’d only spill 1 compartment and not all of them.

My 1 complaint: there is no cap for the bottom so once you rotate a cup to the bottom it has to be washed before it can be reused. Overall not a huge issue but it would be nice to not have to wash them every time.

I haven’t used this for snacks as of yet but it will definitely tradition to that when we aren’t using it for formula!

Philips AVENT Powder Formula Dispenser and Snack Cup, Pink Review:

I bought these cups to carry several bottles-worth of formula powder when out in the community. I am satisfied with these containers because they are easy to use, clean, dispense formula appropriately, and easy to carry around. They do not spill, leak, or make a mess in the baby bag that I carry them in. I put them in the top rack of my dishwasher and they come out very clean, so that's a win-win for me. The container comes apart into three pieces, which is really wonderful, because you can eventually use them to carry snacks for toddlers when you no longer use formula, which I truly appreciate. Highly recommend these.

Tommee Tippee Baby Milk Powder and Formula Dispensers - Travel Storage Container, BPA-Free Review:

This is the only product I've found that works really well for storing and transporting pre-measured formula. I have twins, and having formula ready to go on the road or in the middle of the night is essential to my getting any rest at all.

We don't use Tommee Tippee bottles, but I have found these fit inside the Munchkin Latch bottles my one twin uses (not with water, though, that must be carried separately). They do not fit inside the MAM bottles my other twin uses. Despite this, they'er still the best solution we've found. Other formula containers are tricky to pour from or formula clings to the insides. They also tend to be bulky and hold multiple portions in one device, yet not hold enough portions for an entire night or a day out. I love that these let you take exactly the amount you need, no more or less, and the insides are very smooth, so the formula just slides out, little or none stays stuck to the inside.

Every evening I fill the usual number of bottles per twin with water and an equivalent number of these with formula and line them up ready to go next to the bed. When a baby wakes, open the bottle, dump the formula in, and mix- it's ready in a minute or less. Such an improvement over trying to measure things half awake. They're also nice and small, so easy to tuck in the side pockets on the diaper bag (for the twin who uses MAM bottles or when they're empty).

These are a great little invention and I recommend them for anyone who is formula feeding, especially multiples!

Dr. Brown's Formual Dispenser, Blue Review:

We just had Baby #4, so I've had several various brands of formula dispensers in my 10 years of Mom-ing. We are constantly on-the-go with the older kids' school and activities, so a quick way to make a bottle on the fly is so necessary. The Dr. Brown's formula dispenser is perfect -- it has all of my favorite features. First, it has two pieces that are safely cleaned/sterilized on the top-rack of the dishwasher. Second, it is BPA free and Made in the USA. Third, the lid snaps on tightly so there is little leakage of formula from the spout and/or between the three sections. From the manufacturer: "The spout top can be inverted to function like a funnel when pouring formula into the caddy, and the pour spout fits the neck of any size baby bottle for no‐mess pours." I use the Playtex Drop-In system, so this isn't a huge issue for me, but a neat feature if you are using narrow-rimmed bottles. I also like that the cap is sturdy -- it doesn't flap around and obstruct the formula from pouring out. I've included a picture of the stiff cap, and a photo of the dispenser with enough powder for a 4oz bottle on the left compared to an 8oz bottle on the right.

I also have the Munchkin Formula Dispenser Combo Pack, Colors May Vary and while I do love the single/individual dispenser in that pack, I had more issues with the formula mixing from one section to the next. Also, the Munchkin one cannot be sterilized via boiling or in the dishwasher.

Philips Avent Powder Formula Dispenser & Snack Cup - Blue, SCF135/06 Review:

I had one of these with my first two kids. I liked it so much, I bought another one with my third. Now, I have two so I can wash one and not have to bother hand drying it if I need to go out. I agree with the other reviewers in saying that the top would be better if it were slightly funnel shaped toward the opening. However, it's not a deal breaker since I just quickly rattle it back and forth in the top of the bottle and everything comes out.

What I do like about it is:

The top stays firmly closed, unlike other brands I've checked out at the store. That is a MUST. Nobody wants powder all over everything in their diaper bag.

It is shaped slightly taller and narrower than other brands, which allows me to set it upright in my bag AND still be able to zip it. (Everyone's bags are different, but mine is narrow and tall.)

I would recommend this to a friend.

Munchkin Formula Dispenser Combo Pack, Colors May Vary Review:

My wife loves it!
She bought this for 2 reasons
Reason #1: this is great for traveling this is perfect instead of bringing the whole baby formula container just fill up the 3 compartments each fit just the right amount for a full serving
Reason #2: this comes with a small separate mini container that hold the perfect amount for 1 bottle what we do with this is before going to bed we leave this small container right next to the bottle and a water bottle right next to that and then when the baby wakes up in middle of the night all you have to do is fill the bottle with water and just empty the formula that you have in this small container! it really makes a difference at 4 AM lol.

Otherwise everything else is also very convenient, Built well easy to open/close and extremely easy to wash.

New and Improved Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Formula Dispenser Machine - Automatically Mix a Warm Formula Bottle Instantly - Easily Make Bottle with Automatic Powder Blending Review:

I am always amazed at how many people evidently do not follow directions and then offer a negative review. I've posted a handful of reviews on here and I always try to be truthful and accurate. We purchased this machine purely as a convenience and small luxury - by no means is it a necessity. I am a very technical, detail-oriented and mechanically-inclined person - so it's my nature to be thorough. That being said, I tend to read through instruction manuals. For us, this machine works perfectly - but YOU NEED TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I will respectfully refute some comments I've read on here and explain why I think people are not having good experiences with it. 1) It does not make more than the selected measurement. When I select 4 oz., the finished result is barely over 4 oz. of formula (formula + water). 2) The machine does not "cause" spitting up. The machine simply mixes water and formula - I'm not sure how someone can blame a machine for their baby spitting-up. 3) Overflowing water - I'm guessing this can only be the result of not bothering to notice the MAX FILL line on the reservoir.
The machine dispenses formula based not only on the formula manufacturer - but the manufacturer's specific blend (Example - You set the dispensing wheel not just for "Enfamil" but for "Enfamil > Gentlease"). Maybe this is why some people claim theirs makes 4.5 oz when they select 4 oz or why they claim their formula is watery ("did they follow the directions?"). Another suggestion....CLEAN THE DISPENSING AREA REGULARLY (again, "follow directions"). It takes less than 5 minutes - simply pull out the funnel and wipe the area where the powder drops out. People - it's a powdery substance - when you introduce moisture, there will be some caking! We clean ours each night when cleaning the bottles and have no problems with consistency and quantity. If you wait too long, powder will build-up and change the consistency of the formula (aha....another reason for poor results!). I simply run a toothpick in the groove around the dispensing slot and wipe the funnel - that's it! Another bonus...When grandma babysits, there's no measuring, mixing and bottle-heating required - we just tell her to put a bottle under the dispenser and press start. You pre-set the ounce selector (2,4,6,8,10 oz) and it stays at that selection until you change it. The water and formula blend together and comes out at a perfect 98 degrees - not too hot and not too cold. It's basically "formula on demand" (we jokingly refer to it as the baby's Kuerig as it sits next to ours on the counter and works similarly). One thing we make a habit of doing is capping the bottle and giving a gentle shake to ensure the mix is blended - in our quest for the right formula, we've noticed some formula clumps more than others in the bottle, but this is not a result of the machine - it's a result of mixing powder and water. All I can say is we've been using this for 2 months and this machine has been such a convenience. The 3 minutes a day (literally) you spend wiping it down is exponentially offset by the time you would spend measuring, mixing, heating/testing (too cold, now too hot...) and preparing bottles. I hope this helps in the decision process and prompts some unsatisfied users to review their methods.

Update Feb 2015...Still working fine for us....Changed the baby's formula type - adjusted the settings...business as usual.

Update November 2015....The machine was a great investment and provided great convenience. Our son recently turned 1 and we have just about migrated to milk only. The machine is destined to be donated to our soon-to-be parent friends.

NOTE: I purchased this item for full price. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.
