A wheel bearing is a set of steel balls held together by a metal ring called a race. They help wheels spin fast with as little friction as possible. Wheel bearings can go bad from a number of causes. The most common is simply wear and tear from age and use. Greasing a noisy wheel bearing can help extend its life, but it's not a cure-all.
Different brands of wheel bearing grease can be mixed together without any problems. This is because all wheel bearing greases are made with the same base ingredients. The only difference between brands is the additives that are added to the grease to improve its performance.
Yes, high-temp grease can be used on wheel bearings. It is important to choose a grease that has a high melting point, as this will help to prevent the grease from breaking down at high temperatures.
The color of grease typically doesn't mean anything. However, if the grease is black, it could be an indication that it's burning.

Use on wheel bearings (including disc brake wheel bearings), swivel hinges, pins, winches, anchor chain reels, and more to provide lubrication and corrosion protection
Rated GC-LB by NLGI; NLGI 2 consistency grade; teal color
High 550 degree F drop point makes this an excellent grease for marine and non-marine applications subject to high temperatures
1 pound can (16 ounces)
Special calcium sulfonate complex, water insoluble formula, is ideal for marine applications and provides excellent corrosion protection under severe conditions caused by salt, water, and air

Subaru compatible throwaway bearing grease with a greater dripping point (550F) than the majority of #2 lithium-based greases. Grease made of calcium sulfonate is more shear stable than grease made of lithium complex. They will therefore withstand pressure for a longer period of time than lithium greases. Make sure to get rid of any factory-remaining lithium oil (compatible with lithium complex grease used with Subaru).Additionally compatible with synthetic elastomer bushings like Whiteline. A significant bonus for swaybar bushings is that it won't cake up as quickly (has, say, twice the life) as a lithium complex grease and won't either.Edit: 10/21/18 just rekindled his interest in shooting. This stuff works fantastically as gun grease too! Better qualities than Lucas gun grease at a far lower price.

I installed new Timken wheel bearings and opted to use their bearing grease on my 1998 Montero after hearing great feedback from owners of Toyota and Mitsubishi 4WD vehicles. There is more than enough grease, which is thick and tacky, to pack and apply it to two pairs of wheel bearings in the hub. After about 3000 kilometres and a few off-road excursions, I have not yet had any problems. Timken is a solid choice because of their stellar reputation.

I usually purchase this locally, but it is sold out. I've been filling wheel bearings with this for years. Nice thing. stays put and does not disintegrate or flee (unlike the watery "grease" Lippert uses when they assemble their axles and bearings).

Made in the USA, this product is of high quality. It seems to be on par with or maybe superior to the Lucas brand. I've always wanted to test the Timken brand because I've had good luck with their bearings. Since brackish water frequently spills onto the road from the marsh I drive through during high tides, I have been impressed enough to purchase additional when I need it. In contrast to the advertisement, my tub of grease arrived in an old-style cardboard can with a tin bottom and a pop-off cover. It appears that the container in the picture is a plastic tub with a screw-on lid, which would be convenient for storage and presumably far less likely to leak. Since I often go through an entire tub during a bearing repack, this is not a problem for me. How well this stuff shipped amazed me. It arrived in perfect condition with no leaks whatsoever. I never thought I'd be ordering grease via mail, but after having a positive experience with my last two Amazon purchases, I'm likely to keep doing so since I can have the exact thing I want, when I want it, and for a decent price.

Have a 2007 Johnson 2-stroke outboard motor for a small boat. I smear sea salt on everything! This oil really keeps the salt water off! I even go so far as to cover the exposed spark plugs' steel portion. Even with a little WD40, the area (between the head and S.P. boot) would rust. No issue—just smear some of that there! I use this and it holds up almost anywhere I have moving or linked parts or other things I want to prevent from rusting. not as easily removed as other greases. The coating on the plugs melts off but is stronger than WD40. Thank you so much to the engineers who created this product.

Use on a five-shelf, rotating commercial oven bearings; it fits in more snugly than other well-known brands previously used, and there is separation so there are no drippings (what a mess). It operates more quietly and smoothly now. Given that the oven is kept at 525°F for six to eight hours every day, I assume you can use it on anything with a high temperature.I reapply it after two months and noticed that it can withstand the heat much better than any other grease had. This is quality American goods!

I now grease my trailer religiously after smoking the bearings on an old boat trailer (the bearings had never been repacked). I knew this would work since I trust CRC lubricants and cleaners and use them to clean everything from delicate vehicle computer components to throttle bodies and carburetors. My modest boat trailer has 8" tires, but I frequently travel quite a distance to fish. The wheels and bearings are heavily strained as a result. I haven't experienced any overheating issues after repacking with the CRC Sta-Lube. After the incident, I repack my bearings more frequently than most people do, but one container lasts me more than a year. Since then, I've used this marine oil to lubricate threads on a steering traveler, tractor wheels, and bicycle wheel hubs.If you require auto grease, I wholeheartedly advise using this. It repels water and dirt while dissipating heat from friction without degrading.

This is being used for road and mountain bike repair. I like the concept of using waterproof grease on bicycles. The grease in the hubs and bearings of a bike that was constructed with non-water resistant grease eventually becomes very gooey. This is what I've used to service sealed bearings and repack wheel hubs. Everything seems to be spinning and turning better than ever so far. I am unable to comment on long-term protection and performance at this time.

Extreme pressure capabilities
Bearings run smoother cooler and quieter
Outstanding rust/corrosion protection
Satisfies a wide range of grease requirements

Because the product from the other manufacturer would settle out like ketchup, I chose to try this over another premium synthetic grease. My grease gun was constantly spilling something, like the watery ketchup at the top of the container. Even though the manufacturer of the other product claimed that this separation was not a problem, I can't say I will buy it since if it separates in my grease gun, it will do so in a ball joint or another spot where I require stability of grease to safeguard and lubricate parts over the long haul. The good news is that the grease from Royal Purple hasn't displayed any of the signs that the stuff from the other manufacturer did, and I've been satisfied with it thus far. Long-term testing will determine whether it performs any better than regular grease, but given that Royal Purple is known for its high-quality goods, I anticipate it to perform significantly better.Just so you know, I've driven my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup over 100,000 miles already with no issues using Royal Purple products.

The grease for the Aluminum Complex is what I require. Who knew grease was so complicated? But the moniker "complex grease" says it all. favorable for boat hubs Since it wasn't from Amazon directly, there were some postal expenses attached to my order of 4 tubes, but they arrived quickly. One tube had a slight dent in the aluminum top but was appropriately packed and still fits the pistol. None of the tubes were dripping oil, though.
How often you should grease wheel bearings on a car depends on how often you drive the car. If you drive the car every day, you should grease the wheel bearings once a week. If you only drive the car on weekends, you can grease the wheel bearings every other week.
No, CV joint grease is not the same as wheel bearing grease. CV joint grease is designed to withstand the high temperatures and extreme pressures found in a CV joint, while wheel bearing grease is designed to resist the water and dirt found in a wheel bearing.
Lithium grease is one of the most common types of grease used in wheel bearings. It is a thick, oily substance that helps to lubricate and protect the bearings from wear and tear. Lithium grease is also resistant to high temperatures, making it ideal for use in high-speed applications.
Marine grease is a good choice for wheel bearings because it has good water resistance. This type of grease will help to protect the bearings from corrosion and will also help to keep them running smoothly.
Marine grease is a type of grease that is designed to withstand the harsh conditions that are present in a marine environment. This type of grease is typically made from a synthetic base oil and is fortified with additives that provide superior resistance to water wash-out, corrosion, and oxidation.
