Most turn signals emit a clear light, but there are some that emit a yellow light. While clear turn signals are legal, there are some states that require a yellow light. Be sure to check your state's laws before installing clear turn signals.
Yes, you can replace your turn signal bulb with an LED. LEDs are more energy-efficient and have a longer lifespan than traditional bulbs.
Yes, you can get pulled over for a fast blinker. If an officer believes that you are trying to signal another driver to speed up, they can pull you over.
A turn signal bulb does not have to be amber, but it is the most common color used. Other colors that can be used for turn signals are red, yellow, or white.

My Tahoe's sockets started to burn out from the heat the ordinary lightbulbs produced, which is a typical problem with Chevys, so I had to replace them. So I upgraded to these LEDs, and I much prefer it now because it looks brighter and clearer. Just keep in mind that when switching to these leds, they have built-in resistance to prevent the "hyperflash" that will occur. However, this will only work if you replace all the lightbulbs, excluding high beams, and only the daytime running, turn signal, brake light, break light, and front side signals. You will still experience the "hyperflash" even if you merely change a few of the ordinary bulbs. When the turn signals flash quickly, it is known as a hyperflash and is typically a sign that a bulb is out. The power resistance of leds, however, is so much lower that the car's "computer" mistakenly believes a bulb is out and will hyperflash. These lights have a built-in feature to prevent it, but once more, it will only function if all of the bulbs are changed. It doesn't matter which way you insert the led into the socket because it fits just like the original bulbs; however, if the led doesn't work in one direction, try flipping it and it might work. I had two leds that weren't working in one direction, but for some reason they functioned when I flipped them. Not the most expensive out there, but a little pricy. If you drive a car where the bulbs frequently burn out, this is a terrific way to save money on replacement bulbs and sockets.

They provide light at a level I would describe as moderate. They are suitable and bright for foot well regions and license plate illumination. Although at this price they are a good purchase, I do not think they are very bright for truck bed illumination. If they have the longevity you would expect from an LED, only time will tell. Since I've had them for a week, I can attest to the fact that they operate quite coolly and haven't yet caused their bulb housings to overheat.

My 2008 Corvette Z06's DRLs (daytime running lights) were perfectly replaced by these. It was simple to install and took approximately 10 minutes per side.1) Jack up the vehicle to remove the wheel2) take out the pressure pins holding a small panel cover at the front of the car, 3) turn the bulb socket out, 4) remove the old bulb, and 5) snap in the new bulb.6) Replace the little panel and twist 7) Insert the pressure pins, then replace the bulb socket.8) Completed! My factory bulbs had a ten-year lifespan. I hope they are just as durable!

I used this bulb to replace an OEM Sylvania 4157NAK for the 2008 Tundra's front turn signals and running lights. After a few weeks, I noted that it no longer appeared amber but rather yellow/white. When I checked it, I discovered that it was running so hot that the bulb's base was starting to melt and that the majority of the amber hue had seemingly been lost. Now, it's possible that my truck has a problem or that I require the "K" (krypton) version. I replaced this Phillips product with an Eiko 4157NAK; if I experience any issues with that one, it will be clear that the issue is with my truck rather than the bulb.EDIT: The Eiko bulb gave me the same trouble. It appears the socket was defective. All is good now that I have changed the socket. Since I have no reason to believe the bulb was the issue, I'm changing the rating to 5 stars.

I installed them as replacement instrument cluster lights since I enjoy how bright they are. There is a flaw in the design that might affect you. On either side, the contact wire emerges and circles to the opposite side of the plastic. In my case, a dead short was being created since I had contact points on both sides of the bulb housing. All I had to do to fix the problem was bend the contact wire over so it was on one side, but if you're not paying attention, this might result in highly perplexing electrical difficulties and possibly blow fuses. I just deducted one star for this since I'm not sure how many users will be impacted and because the brightness is excellent and the bulb size was very close to that of a glass 194, so I'm willing to overlook this.

I've used up three Sylvania incandescent headlamp bulbs in less than a year. I've never experienced as many failures in such a short period of time. I chose to experiment with LEDs as a result of this apparent reduction in quality. The OEM style incandescent bulbs can be replaced with these "JDM ASTAR Newest Version T1 10000 Lumens Extremely Bright High Power H11 H9 H8 All-in-One LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit, Xenon White".My main worry was whether these LED lights would combine with the headlamp's reflectors and lens to produce a similar beam pattern that would give enough illumination without blinding other drivers.I've included a picture to demonstrate the beam pattern using an LED on the left and an incandescent on the right projected onto a wall. With the exception of a slightly larger hot spot, the LED bulb provides a beam pattern that is almost identical to that of the incandescent. While the LED lights seem a little brighter when viewed directly on to the front of the car, they don't cause any extreme or unusual glare. Additionally, even though these LEDs appear to emit more light than OEM, it isn't overwhelming enough to impair oncoming drivers or cause the car to draw unwelcome attention. In reality, it is similar to, if not identical to, the headlamps on any contemporary car built in the last several years. The final image demonstrates that both LEDs worked well together.Pigtails that offer you a little extra room to connect the electrical harness of the car to the lamp made installation simple. The connectors on OEM incandescents attach directly to the bulbs and can be a little challenging to access. Most importantly, there are no clearance difficulties despite the cramped conditions on the passenger side.Since I recently installed them, I can't comment on their durability. A little fan that pushes air across the heat sink is located on the back of each bulb. I'm not too like of the fans, but it appears that almost all LED bulbs have them as well. Any errors or failures will be reported once I modify this review.

I bought this set in the belief that it would just need one 60 ohm resistor per circuit to stop the hyperflashing issue that LED bulbs always produce after doing significant study on replacing the incandescent lights in my 1995 Honda Del Sol SI VTEC with LEDs. I was so shocked when the hyperflashing persisted after I added one resistor on the left turn signal circuit and one on the right. (Hyperflashing is the rapid, twice-as-fast LED flashing that happens when an LED bulb is plugged into a circuit that has a flasher relay. Hyperflashing results from the flasher relay not properly recognizing LEDs because they consume less power than conventional lights.Fortunately, the issue was resolved when I added a resistor to each socket. This is simply the result of false information that has been spread online and is not a flaw in the product. So, be vigilant. At the location of each turn signal, add a resistor. Attach it to a metal surface (to give the generated heat somewhere to go) and keep it away from any plastic or textile surfaces. If you leave the turn signal on for any amount of time, these surfaces can become rather hot. I've read that you can suspend the resistor from plastic or cloth using zip ties or a similar method, but in my opinion, this is only an acceptable option if you have no suitable metal surface to attach as a heat sink.Again, not the product's fault, but if you install LED lights to reduce power use, please be aware that the resistor more than offsets the power savings from the LED. There isn't a method to avoid this. Hylerflashing happens because the LED doesn't draw enough power for the auto's flasher relay to detect its presence. The only method to halt hyperflashing is to include a resistor that consumes enough power to trick the system into believing there is a regular bulb in the circuit. The improvement in light output is the only justification for upgrading turn signals to LEDs. I apologize to any tree huggers I may have offended.

The original socket had to be replaced since it had burned out. Order includes two matching, pre-wired sockets (3 wires). By matching wire colors, installation was incredibly simple. Although the bulb was a little challenging to install, it seemed to go in easily if inserted at an angle. tested; excellent performance! Definitely a recommendation.
Brake lights and turn signals usually use the same bulb. However, some cars have separate bulbs for each. Check your car's owner manual to be sure.
LED turn signals do not need a load resistor because they consume less power than incandescent bulbs. This means that they can be directly connected to the vehicle’s electrical system without causing any problems.
LED turn signals are becoming increasingly popular on cars and trucks. Many people are wondering if they need a special flasher for LED turn signals. The answer is no, you do not need a special flasher for LED turn signals. LED turn signals will work with the existing flasher in your vehicle.
If your turn signal is not working, the first thing you should do is check the bulb to see if it is burned out. To do this, locate the turn signal bulb on the side of the car that is not working. The turn signal bulb is usually in the taillight assembly. Once you have found the turn signal bulb, twist it counterclockwise and pull it out of the socket. Inspect the filament inside the bulb. If the filament is burned out, the bulb is bad and needs to be replaced.
There are a few things that can be done in order to stop hyper flash. One is to install resistors in the turn signal circuit. This will fool the turn signal into thinking it is getting the correct amount of current, when in reality it is not. Another way to stop hyper flash is to upgrade the turn signal bulbs to LED bulbs. LED bulbs use less current than traditional bulbs, so the turn signal will not hyper flash.
To change a rear turn signal bulb, open the trunk and locate the turn signal assembly. Unscrew the assembly and remove the old bulb. Insert a new bulb into the assembly and screw it back into place.
