I turn it off and stop adding fluid when it begins to leak out of the fill hole. until it stops, letting the liquid flow into a container. I switch out the fill plug and examine each level. It would be much better to flush all the trash into the torque converter and transmission.

When the water starts to slow down, loosen the screws even further. Let drain, wipe clean, then remove filters (the more you can drain before having to remove pan, the better). Make that the primary oil filter seal in the oil pump is removed. Install the primary filter AFTER installing the new seal, making sure it goes in straight (seat with a socket that fits and a rubber mallet), and then remove the old seal by using a flat screwdriver or hook to snag the inside lip across and pop/pull it out. If you don't want leaks, don't install the seal and the primary filter simultaneously. The cooler filter should be 125 inch pounds tight, and the primary filter should be 40 inch pounds. Remember to thoroughly clean the pan, replace the magnet, attach the other screws, ensuring sure the gasket is where it needs to be, and tighten them in a star-shaped pattern to 105 inch pounds. Set the gasket on the pan and make sure the holes are lined up with them. (around 10 foot pounds)
