My 2005 6.0 was having problems with no-starts, uneven idling, surging idling, and sluggish acceleration, all of which occurred whether the engine was warm or heated. Watch these videos by Diesel Tech Ron on YouTube to learn how to complete this task and what tools you'll need. On mine, the standpipe (the longer sections you can see in the picture) came out in two pieces, so I also had to remove the oil rails underneath the valve covers. You'll likely need a pretty shallow torx socket for this (Blue point: BLPTS1430). In order to slip the new standpipe in over the AC box, I also had to slightly jack up the engine. Since mine were 1/2 square drive heads rather than 10mm, they were different from the ones in the movies. While I was in there, I also decided to work on the glow plugs and glow plug harnesses (I had one bad glow plug on each side). Glow plug replacement is a wonderful idea right now because it's much simpler to reach inside with the valve covers open and it costs roughly $90 each side.Since there were no indications of damaged orings in my previous dummy plugs and standpipes, I feared I hadn't discovered the issue. However, it was flawless. Idle is flawless, starts are back to normal, and fuel economy has returned to its previous level (up 0.8 MPG so far). Be careful that the truck will take a while to start the first few times until you have driven it a distance (air needs to be purged from High Pressure Oil system). Others have experienced problems with inferior brands, and some people only install dummy plugs rather than standpipes. While you have it open, install both standpipes and dummy plugs, and get these real Motorcraft components. Keep the engine as clean and free of debris as you can. Don't overtorque the fasteners; be gentle with them. Reassemble ONLY by hand; do not use force.

On my automobile, I utilised this device to repair a segment of rusty gas line. Copper should survive a lot longer than the steel that GM used, although I can't comment to how long it will last as I've only had it installed for a few days. Installation was quite simple. It was quite simple to fit because I could bend it by hand without it creasing. I had to attach it around a corner and through a crack between the wheel well and the exhaust. By using a few compression fittings instead of hiring someone or purchasing a kit, I was able to save a tonne of money.

Although it is officially a gasoline line, I utilized it to send blow-by gases from my truck's PCV system into a freshly purchased oil catch container. I purchased this hose in advance and am very happy with it after reading the reviews regarding the catch can, which claimed that the hose that came with it was not the best. It is substantial, robust, and even metal-reinforced (similar to a tire). Although only a few days old, so far, so wonderful!

Silverado 4WD from 2003. Don't apply for this position if you give up easily. Run the engine until it stalls, then remove the fuel pump relay. 13 mm. With a half-inch box wrench, remove the pcv valve from the valve cover while standing on something to reach the bolt at the back of the engine. You must sense the bolt because you can't see it. I secured a wrench with a line, lowered it to my other hand, and eventually slid the wrench over the stud to release the bolt. Unbolt the front drive shaft at the differential under the truck, then get out of the way. Remove lines from the tank. I had a line that kept sucking gas out of the tank; I secured it by raising it above the tank. Cut the old lines with tin snips. I removed the charcoal canister to access the lines by the tank. Prior to installing new lines, it took time to remove rust and paint the frame. The lines above trans are the most challenging. installing new ones as well as removing old ones. Till all lines are in, keep all mounts free. I performed it in my driveway; the gas fumes weren't too awful, but use caution. Additionally, the new lines had rubber caps on the ends, which I taped on. When installing, they frequently fall off. Do not want dirt to enter the new lines.

I wish I had known about this when I needed a way to move the fuel inlet on my Edelbrock 1406 so that I could fit the air cleaner in. The banjo fitting I had purchased, the Edelbrock 8089, worked, but not as well. It is impossible to put the fuel line onto the banjo fitting and the hose clamp over the hose once it is installed since it is VERY near to the carburetor's body. I discovered that in order to connect the banjo fitting to the carburetor, I first had to link the fuel line and hose clamp to the banjo fitting. Not with this treasure! As a result, the fuel inlet travels down the carburetor's side, past the choke links, and out the carburetor's front side. There is now more than enough room for the air cleaner, and the installation looks much cleaner.

The Dorman 800-074 gasoline line (5/16) that I bought "(from 5/16" nylon to 5/16" steel) quick connect fittings 800-080.I tested the fuel line with calipers and it is.250" ID,.312" OD (which is "typically" called 1/4") "line).The barb fittings are.350 in size "I know the line must be heated and some pressure must be applied to install the barb, but these measurements don't even come close.UPDATE 2>4 stars: After building wooden clamps with v-grooves to hold the nylon line, heating it, and "spinning" the fitting into the line using a drill press (with a 3/4-inch drill bit), I was finally able to connect these parts "jaw). This came after numerous manual failures with heating water. It's intended for use with the Dorman tool, as stated in the description. Your outcomes can differ if you don't use a tool!Still, I would have wanted more specific specifications (ID/OD, mates with xxx) so I could be sure I was getting the right pieces. One more commenter called attention to the "oversized" line.
