Several months ago, I required this for a Gen 3 LS motor, and it had no trouble removing the old balancer. I didn't bother to submit any further favorable reviews because there were already so many here. The lower steering stem race from a vintage Japanese motorcycle was difficult for me to remove tonight. You cannot use a drift to tap the race out from above because it is recessed and located at the bottom of a tube. The handbook mentioned a unique tool that is no longer produced, and a recent one that might have worked cost around $40. I started scanning my shop when I noticed this puller.In a video I saw, the driver maintained strain on the arms while someone else worked on the race using a gear puller flipped inside the steering head. Since I was alone, I flipped this puller's arms up in order to invert it. Two of the three arms could fit through the opening, but not all three. This is a terrific tool that has more than paid for itself. I placed a 1/2" drive long extension between the arms to maintain strain on them and then used a bar from above to hammer the race out. Within 2 minutes the race popped out.

My 2004 Explorer's 4.0L V6 Flex Fuel harmonic balancer split into two pieces. This was the appropriate substitution. From your Ford dealer, get a new center bolt for it (it cost me $8.00). It's difficult to find a universal puller/installer kit that works effectively. I purchased a 5.5" long 3/8" carriage bolt to insert into the center hole for the puller to push against in order to remove the old one. I started by tightening the replacement pulley with the old bolt before switching to the dealer's new bolt to complete the installation. Although it's probably not the ideal approach, I had trouble finding any other tools that would work for me.It was $20 less expensive here than at my local parts store and Dorman makes high-quality products.

excellent toolused to replace the timing belt on a 2004 Sienna 3.3L.In order to access the cam seals, I needed it to remove the cam sprockets.Keep the timing belt AND tensioner still on the engine, align all timing marks before removing the tensioner, and do not pop the bolts off the cam sprockets since they may shift a few degrees off the timing marks and cause the cams to "jump" and perhaps damage valves. then, while the timing belt is still on or hasn't been removed from the engine, use a socket and wrench (with a pipe) in one hand and this tool in the other to loosen bolts on cam sprockets.When the cam sprocket bolts are loosened, you'll see that the sprockets have shifted away from the timing mark; however, since the timing belt is still attached to the engine, you may quickly correct the cams' timing markings by moving the crank pulley bolt.Overall, changing the timing belt is not as difficult as it first appears. You may have some cuts and scrapes on your hands and fingers, as well as some busted knuckles, but this can be accomplished with simple tools. Rubber gloves are very necessary; otherwise, washing hands and trying to get oil and debris off of hands and nails is a waste of time.Make sure you have and use just 6 point sockets because 12 point sockets will strip the head on the bolts.
