You can clean your EGR valve with WD-40, but it's not the most effective way to do it. WD-40 is a solvent, so it will break down the carbon deposits on your EGR valve. However, it's not designed to clean engines, so it's not as effective as a dedicated engine cleaner.
You can replace your EGR valve yourself, but it is a difficult and time-consuming task. It is best to leave this job to a professional mechanic.
EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. It's a system on some vehicles that helps to lower emissions of oxides of nitrogen. The EGR valve allows a small amount of exhaust gases to enter the intake manifold. This exhaust gas dilutes the air/fuel mixture, and the oxygen in the exhaust gas helps to lower the combustion temperature. This, in turn, lowers the formation of oxides of nitrogen. Most EGR valves are computer controlled and will open and close at the appropriate times. You should not have to unplug your EGR valve unless there is
You can't clean an EGR valve by driving. The valve needs to be removed and cleaned with a solvent.

It is currently functioning without issues, and I have no complaints. I'll give it a five star rating and wait to see how well it holds up, but only time will tell.

For what it's worth, the tube in my 2004 car was clear and spotless, and the old sensor was similarly spotless, but it was dead. Replacement took ten to fifteen minutes.Under strong acceleration, the truck would cycle the turbo erratically and perform strange things. For some foolish reason, perhaps inspired by the horror tales I had heard, I put off replacement. Though I should have known better, I wasn't certain that this was the problem either. The MPG increases again, the power is appropriate, and—oh, there's no more huge block rumble when you're traveling down the highway and wondering what the turbo was doing—with the same tune. It's progressing nicely right now.

Standard EGR Valve Pressure Feedback Sensor (VP17)

used on a 3.8L V6 Ford Mustang from 2001. My P0401 problem code was not resolved by a new EGR valve, therefore I assumed I required this. I was right, and after 30 miles of repeated cold starts, there was no longer a P0401! When I purchased my Mustang, it had quite a few problems. With the help of this tiny component, the final error code has been eliminated, and the "Service Engine Soon" light is no longer there.

My 2006 Ford F350 dually has a 6.0L engine. This was purchased to fix a P0299, P0470, and P0472. Infiltration of water into the connector was the real problem. CRC electrical connection spray was used to clean it. To be safe, I also bought the EBP tube. A aftermarket EBP sensor with fewer than 1,000 miles on it was replaced by the Ford EBP sensor. I'm glad to have my power restored.Consider this advice: if you own a 6.0L vehicle of any year, only use Ford Motorcraft or International parts to replace any sensor, connector, or filter. If you don't, you'll have to replace it much sooner than you anticipate. I've learnt my lesson—this is the same part again. Never once more

I've learned the "hard way" numerous times that trying to "save money" by purchasing necessary products from large chain discount stores is a false economy. Even if it has a "lifetime guarantee," you will typically have to return it for the rest of your life (assuming you can locate the receipt!).This component is a genuine Ford component. Since the original one in my car lasted 13 years, I'm sure I won't need to replace it anytime soon. The Ford service issue "Article No. 04-11-1" replaces earlier service advice for this component. This is the one that swaps out several original part numbers."1) Retrieve continuous DTC," it reads (s).Turn off the ignition and replace the DPFE sensor if any of the P0401, P0402, P1400, or P1401 codes are present. My Big Merc (2001) lurched when in cruise control and had the trouble code P0402 for "high EGR flow." The issue was entirely resolved in this section.

Standard EGR Valve (EGV1149)

Not much to tell, except that the 2010 Chrysler Town and Country with the 3.8L EGR position codes have been resolved. This EGR was an exact fit and was replaced in within 30 minutes after cleaning the previous one (original OEM, around 110k miles) didn't work out (it pays to have the right tools...the right sockets and extensions are necessary to avoid having to unbolt other components, and dealing with rusted bolts, etc.).After cleaning the motor's mating surfaces, I used a tiny dab of sensor-safe RTV/exhaust gasket sealant and anti-seize on the bolts (this motor's EGR valves commonly fail; it's a fact of life). I just utilized the old bolts as it came with all the necessary gaskets and other components.Several months have passed with no issues; things are looking well.

Delivery and the part were satisfactory. Price was excellent. The similar item cost $70.00 at Oreilys. I was stupid and didn't check my truck's sensor before I ordered one. Ford must have installed two distinct sensors on the 2002 F-150, 4.6 liter, and the sensor I ordered was the wrong component.

Perfect fit and elimination of the OBD codes for inadequate EGR flow. This seems to be well made, and I hope it endures. The 2000 Mercury Mountaineer with 5.0l V8 was the vehicle requested. excellent value and quick shipment. ThanksUpdate. It was brief—just one week. After 150 miles, the check engine light returned. Even without the engine running, the output voltage was 5.00 volts when I checked it. Purchased a genuine Ford component with over 800 miles on it and no issues.

My 1998 E450's service engine light was illuminated. I checked the code at Auto Zone after taking it there. Code P1405. Sensor DPFE. I perused all of the DPFE15 sensors for sale online and read reviews. They were $10 to $200 in price. Physically, they were all alike. So I made the choice to start with the less expensive one. It came to me quickly, was quickly installed, and the check engine light is not on. I traveled 20 kilometers just to investigate. All is well thus far. It works.I'll change the total rating if this sensor melts or blows out. But thus far, it functions as it should.
An EGR valve can become faulty due to a number of reasons, such as carbon buildup or a faulty sensor. The most common way to fix a faulty EGR valve is to have it cleaned or replaced.
An EGR replacement can take anywhere from 1-4 hours, depending on the make and model of your vehicle. The process involves removing the old EGR valve and installing a new one in its place. Most mechanics will charge by the hour for this type of repair.
An EGR sensor typically costs between $100 and $200. However, the cost will vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle.
A faulty EGR valve can cause your car to run less efficiently, and in some cases can cause damage to your engine. If you think your EGR valve may be faulty, it's best to get it checked out by a mechanic.
When it comes to an EGR valve, it is often better to clean it than to replace it. This is because the EGR valve is a relatively simple device that can become clogged with soot and other debris over time. While it is possible to replace an EGR valve, it is often more expensive than simply cleaning it.
An EGR valve can become clogged with soot from the engine over time and begin to stick, causing the engine to run less efficiently. Replacing an EGR valve is not a difficult job and is usually worth the effort to restore engine performance.
