So I just recently bought a 2001 Toyota 4runner that needed some upkeep. One aspect of that upkeep is changing the oil. When I changed the oil, I used the original plastic gasket that came on the oil plug again, and it began to leak a little. Despite the fact that I should have used the proper gasket, I was unaware that there were certain gaskets for the oil plug.After one oil change, these washer gaskets have successfully kept the entire oil supply inside the oil pan. I bought this for my Honda Odyssey. The oil drain plug had a small leak, but the gasket appeared to be in good shape. I had to use a breaker bar to remove the plug because it was quite tightly torqued. I changed it out for a Dorman gasket and torqued it to Honda specifications (29 ft-lbs). No more leaks of oil! It's preferable to replace the gasket at each oil change, a mechanic friend of mine advised me.
