2007 - 2010 Jeep Wranglers with manual transmissions.

Awesome! Easy to install. Exactly five minutes. Like everyone else, I sat on my center council. I pulled firmly while lightly turning my gear knob, and it came right off. I then removed my previous cover and the oval plate by unscrewing it. This replacement just "pops in," so to speak. First insert the front side, then just press down on the back side until the tiny clips snap in. It's done! So simple! Sincerely, I believe it is slightly overpriced but still worthwhile. Given the excellent packaging and several Mopar logos, it appears to be fairly authentic. Don't think twice, just get it.

You could feel hot air from the motor rising up through the floor, through the centre console, and into the cabin because the inner shifter boot (underneath the centre console) was 20 years old and entirely rotted out. This replacement fit perfectly. The most time-consuming step was removing the console to access it; this took a few minutes. After that, it only required four screws, and I was able to repair it in about 30 seconds. I should remain healthy for an additional 20 years! For a 1998 Jeep TJ SE 2.5l 4cyl. 5 speed.Aside: The cabin is now much cooler!

The shifter boot is exceptionally well made and made of thick rubber. It is one of the best ones I have ever purchased. The one I previously used was really cheap, cost twice as much, and only lasted three months.

However, this new Shift Lever Boot feels and looks pretty well constructed, and the price here on Amazon saves me money compared to the Dealer and local parts stores, who want anything from $25 to $30.00. Some Dorman Aftermarket components can be iffy and cheap-looking.$15.70 is the cost on Amazon.com. The exact same one cost $27.00 at Advance Auto Parts. The upper and lower steering column covers are made of "cheap brittle plastic that have fragile locking Tabs that you need to get just right to snap them back together to lock them together, If your Dealer or anyone else has removed them before, be forewarned that the life span of the Plastic will be reduced when you replace your (Combination Switch, also known as Turn Signal/Cruise Control Malfunction Switch or the Shift Lever Boot).

Fits perfectly; there are no instructions provided. Before/during removal, pay close attention to the orientation and mechanics of the existing boot shift cover. The transition from the old to the new took between 30 and 45 minutes. 90% of the time, the trick was to figure out how to stretch (for a very tight fit) the bottom of the boot to fit over the housing and pinch it into the housing at the same time.

a 1999 Jeep Wrangler was purchased. Since I've had this car since 1999, I've had to buy a few of these boots whenever they begin torn. The rubber on this one is the thickest I've ever seen, and it's also the cheapest I've discovered. I'm quite happy with the quality, especially for the price... I wish I had purchased 2. Excellent!

We required a compact shifter boot to close the gap on our sports car from the early 1970s. The leather shifter boot cover was allowing a lot of heat and smells to enter the vehicle. found that the tunnel aperture where the shifter rises from the transmission was not protected by a boot. I intended to rectify this by inserting a small, unobtrusive rubber boot under the consul. Utilizing the sheet metal screws included with the boot, the Spectre 6285 shift boot was the ideal covering for the opening and was very simple to install. Was a win-win-win answer to my issue; it was a great fit to cover the opening, simple to install, and quite affordable. A wonderful little thing that fixed our issue, many thanks. Jack

Man, what a pain in the rear it was to install, but when I did, it looks absolutely stunning. The suede shift boot I purchased for my 2007 Honda Civic EX makes me really happy. My shift knob was made for a SI, so I had to purchase a shit boot that was also made for a SI, and now everything fits perfectly. I'm very happy with the product thus far; I just installed it, so today is my first day using it. It looks great and, in my opinion, feels and looks like a $15 to $20 shift boot despite only costing $8.80.
