I didn't enjoy having to remove the original resistance wire, but it doesn't matter because the new technology works much better.

ANYWAY, switching to this coil's 1.5 ohms of additional resistance is sufficient to maintain the points' proper temperature, and the voltage output through the spark is also satisfactory. The last time the automobile experienced tripping and essentially being unable to drive was four months ago. As they do wear down over time, I decided to replace them because they were intermittent. Something I had forgotten about as things gradually faded started to make a noticeable effect almost immediately. I then became aware of how quickly things accelerated. I had switched out the plugs (which had over 100K and the wires earlier with no significant difference). The car is a 2001 GM with a 3800 Series II engine, so I'm anxious to know if the gas mileage improves. I chose this product since it was less expensive than Genuine AC Delco components, which may have originated from the same manufacture line as these but we will never know for sure. All AC Delco parts come with a disclaimer stating that the only thing that is real about them is the box they come in; the actual parts, like my Kenmore washer and dishwasher, are made by different companies.



PerTronix 45011 Flame-Thrower II 45,000 Volt 0.6 ohm Coil Review:


I used this coil to convert my boat's Mercruiser 120 4-cylinder (1985 Regal Medallion) to an electronic ignition system (Pertronix ignitor 2). I bought the original one from eBay two years ago and never had a problem. Salt water caused the terminals to corrode over time, although they were still functional. Ordered a backup from Amazon just in case, but there was no immediate need to install it. It's incredible how much more power my boat has and how much the new coil and ignitor have improved the engine's sound and health. Would advise using for maritime purposes!

When traveling between 45 and 55 mph when under load, my 2007 F150 had this minor miss. About a year ago, I changed the plugs, which temporarily resolved the issue before it reappeared. The two that are closest to the firewall are a little challenging, but the effort is worthwhile rather than having a store charge me way too much to do it. The slight click I heard when installing the new ones was all I needed to know that my truck will perform significantly better. The little spring that glides over the top of the spark plug was not tensioned on the older models. Excellent item, highly recommended

When I can, I really enjoy utilizing Motorcraft components, but I couldn't buy a full set. Instead, I switched to these, and they've been fantastic! Spark plugs themselves and the head's surface are both well-sealed by the plug boots. I have 6,000 miles on them, and there are no codes. The color yellow also has a lovely appearance.UPDATE 2-20-18: These coils are still performing admirably more than two years later! I've never had a problem with any of these. Well worth the money!
