These bulbs are super bright and two will make it look like daylight inside my 2005 4-door Dodge Ram (same as 2002-2008). The problem is that they won't work correctly in all sockets/applications. I will explain - My Ram has a dome light, two map lights, and a glove box light in the cab. These will work in the dome light correctly, but not the others. The map lights won't come on by using the switches, only when a door is opened (not acceptable). In searching the web, I found that this is because of the CAN bus system installed in most modern cars. If you google "Using LED with a CAN Bus System", it will come up.

What I did to make these work well enough for now is to install an old conventional bulb in the left map light and an led in the right one. That way, when I open the doors, the dome light and map lights come on as intended. When I need a map light, I have to turn on the left one FIRST (old bulb), and if I want more light, then turn on the right one (led). The only way the glove box led will come on is if the left map light is on as well. I rated these bulbs 5 stars because they're so dang bright, and it's kinda my fault for not knowing I needed the CAN bus leds. Now I'll check into the price of error-free CAN bus compliant leds...

800 lumens ? Was I sent the wrong bulbs? They are barely bright enough to see lit. I tried all 4 of the 4 pack and they are all just as dim. Not even bright enough as a night light. Package says 800 lumens, but as you can see from photos the further light in the back is the old incandescent shadowing the other light fixture with the new LED in it...
I would like to reorder this 4 pack, but I want to be assured that I will actually get "800 Lumens Super Bright LED bulbs as described.

Edit : 1/04/2019 - Changed to 4 stars for customer service. The selller has refunded my purchase price and is working with me, it maybe my particular vehicle 2005 Jeep Liberty and not these bulbs. To add to my issues with these LED bulbs, they did not shut off when driving, they were lit (very dim) while driving, but they did dim down to off, after the vehicle is off and locked. I switched back to the original incandescent bulbs, and everything is back to normal.
The seller also offered free new 921 LED bulbs to try for my troubles. I still need to find interior LED bulbs that will work with my vehicle.

I purchased these items to complete a total conversion (internal/external) to LED from 20th Century Incandescent & Halogen lighting. The removal of the old bulbs & installation in the front/rear overhead cab housing was a bit fidgety due to the wide flat bulb housing. After discovering the bulbs needed to be placed in at a 90degree angle then rotated like a rotisserie once firmly in the contact springs to direct the light pattern straight down, the conversion was complete. The color spectrum was consistent with the replacement floor and vanity mirror LED lighting creating a significant increase in brightness with color uniformity. Hope this helps!

Despite the seller's claim that this LED provides 240 lumens, I measured ten samples of these T10 bulbs at approximately 160 lumens. I also measured the current at approximately 129 mA which at 12 volts is about 1.5 watts. This equates to about 107 Lumens per watt. By comparison, most LEDs are between 60 to 120 lumens per watt, and the present state of the art is around 200. Regarding brightness, #194 bulbs are typically around 24 lumens, #168 bulbs are around 36 lumens, and #2825 bulbs are around 50 lumens.

Regarding specifications, the specs I have seen on the 3014 chip set indicate that 24 chips have the potential to produce around 312 lumens. Accordingly, the general lessen in this is to not trust that all LED bulbs are designed or built to operate at the maximum chip-set ratings. Also, my observation is that few sellers report actual measured lumens, and many sellers simply report the maximum rating per chip multiplied by the number of chips. I suspect because some sellers exaggerate the lumens this way, others feel the need to do the same to be competitive. If a seller claims that a one watt LED bulb provides 400 lumens, this is beyond the present state of the art, and it is more likely that the output is between 60 and 120 lumens.

Regarding CAN-Bus compatibility and being error free, CAN-Bus compatibility simply means that the automobile contains a current sensor that senses whether the bulb appears to be drawing some level of current representative of the operation of the original bulb. Ever since the use of the CAN-Bus, it then became possible to report such an error from a sensor over the CAN Bus. Some older cars also had sensors but reported the errors using other wiring. Regarding bulb failures, the CAN-Bus reporting system is more typically utilized on more essential lighting like headlamps, stoplights, and taillights, and less likely on festoon type bulbs or interior bulbs. Also, technically the only way a replacement bulb can be guaranteed to be error free is for it to draw the same or more current as the originally specified bulb. For example, a 4 watt #194 bulb draws about 0.27 amps (270 mA). And although the threshold for error detection may be significant less than that, it is also possible (though unlikely) for that threshold to be above the 129 mA drawn by this bulb. In this respect, although claiming CAN-Bus compatibility for a #194 bulb may be essentially true, the compatibility can become less likely for higher wattage bulbs like #2825 that draws 0.37 amps (370 mA).

I cannot attest to reliability or longevity.

It isn't enough to just reverse polarity if these don't work. You've got to make sure that the wires contact the socket, and in this type of bulb, it may take some fiddling with to get them right. But this is typical for this lamp base and socket type. Lamps are very bright, look forward to never replacing them again, and it's kind of funny to ask for a review of longevity on a lamp that should last 50,000 hours. Maybe ask me again in 20 years... good light, would buy again.

UPDATE: a few months after installing, I wanted to use Cruise Control, and it wouldn't engage at all. I spent a maddening week trying to find the cause, replaced two parts that didn't need replacing, and finally found that these bulbs were the cause, because I didn't install the resistors (I only replaced the relay to avoid hyper-flashing).
The LED bulbs were keeping my cruise control from engaging. The bulbs aren't drawing enough power, and the computer read it as if I had blown bulbs, and wouldn't engage the Cruise Control. Replaced with regular bulbs for testing and it works just fine! I will install resistors, because I want to keep the LED's but this was a very interesting effect of the bulbs. I am not dropping any stars because the product is very good, but the seller should post a warning that they might affect Cruise if installed without resistors.

Replaced the original weak halogen ones on 2004 Ford Taurus
PROS:
- very bright (probably 50% brighter than original ones)
- multi directional
- fit perfectly
- dual beam (just like the originals, these bulbs change from dim to bright when you press the brakes or for the turn signal )
CONS:
- I needed to replace the flasher relay ($7 on Amazon), as they were hyper-flashing

So far so good. No problems after a month of use. I use these as my welcome lights on an F30 BMW 3 series. They're probably not bright enough to serve as reverse lights and you'll have to code out the cold and warm checks to prevent an error from showing up about your parking lamps (which means you'll need an E-NET cable, Windows computer, and a copy of E-SYS).

These are perfect for my needs. Quality product, packaging, with built-in CANBUS load resistors. Very bright - great for DRL, or parking light, reverse lights, etc. Maybe a bit bright for interior use like map lights, etc., but it may be fine for some people. Very happy with the value these represent. (PHOTOS ATTACHED: yellow-ish is OEM halogen incandescent bulb, Cool white, brighter, is how these LED’s look. BIG IMPROVEMENT!)
