Installed the plug and remote control first, then installed the first set of LED strips underneath the driver's and passenger's dash, running the wires underneath the console to the back, and zip-tying the LED strips to a support bar underneath the seats (full power adjustable seats mean there is no safe or secure place to mount the strips otherwise). I did not install as instructed because hiding the wire under the inner rocker panel in my 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche would have been nearly impossible.They have fantastic daytime and nighttime aesthetics, and I appreciate that the brightness can be adjusted using the remote control.After having horrible experiences with applications that go along with drones or action cameras, I wasn't expecting much, but the Govee Home app is not bad; setup was simple, and adjusting the lighting was also quick and easy. I've only installed one of these lights so far, and I used it to illuminate the rear dome of a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.I was taken aback by the light's casing. At this budget point, I didn't have high hopes for rock lights, but the metal enclosure is well-sealed. The housing looks nice and seems to be sturdy. Well-done powder coating was used.The wire exiting the light's back is not straight. One of the mounting holes is fairly close to where it emerges. As you must either use the rubber isolators they come with or drill holes in a few specified places, this does restrict the mounting applications. A very tough (what appears to be) rubber/pvc mixture covers the wires. I had to shorten it, and the cover was difficult to cut and will probably hold up well over time. Although the wiring is quite flimsy, considering these are only LED lights, they seem to be acceptable.To fit on a rounded surface, the rubber isolators are carefully cut to size. It nearly seems as though these lights were intended to be placed horizontally on a pipe of about 4 inches in diameter. They should have been flat for my application, so I chopped them closer to flat, and they work just great. Just be aware that you might need to adjust the rubber pads because they are not flat on the bottom.The supplied hardware is adequate. Hex nuts and allen bolts were provided. They are long enough to install these to a 1/16" thick surface. If the surface is any thicker, longer bolts will likely be required.The red light is quite bright and perfect for my need.These are ones I would suggest, and I soon plan to put the remaining lights as real rock lights.

Overall, this product merits a rating of 5. These were purchased for my wife's car because I didn't want to use her cigarette lighter. I finally decided to hard wire it to her headlights so that it will also turn on when she turns on her headlights.There is no method to dim these lights, which is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. My wife's automobile is just too bright for them. In the end, I decided to somewhat dim these lights by covering them with taillight tint. To make it dim enough for nighttime driving, I might have to add a second layer of tint. Because I didn't feel like dealing with the wiring and attaching them to the actual seats for the rear row, I merely installed them on the driver and passenger foot area.It's a good product all around, and hard wiring them only took me an hour. Trying to hide the wiring was the most difficult part.

Hence, a small disclaimer: I installed these lights inside my car as opposed to the usual external installation that most people would probably do.Having saying that, the quality of this kit is excellent. I wouldn't worry about getting them wet, since they are sealed rather well, but you could cut a piece of plexiglass to put over the top if you're concerned about the lights turning yellowish. This would prevent mud and other debris from being trapped on the lights.The manual switch is a wonderful feature if you're the kind of person who doesn't want to drive around every day with the remote. The remotes are good and clicky, with the lights responding immediately to input.The provided remotes satisfy my needs at the moment, but I'll play with with the app a little more sometime because it's a fairly low priority. I was unable to get the app to operate.

Good news so far. I installed the Bluetooth device in a central location inside the vehicle, so I can't speak to whether the lines would have been long enough for my 2002 Tahoe if I had installed it under the hood. I've been able to have a ton of new fun with my truck thanks to these lights. Yes, I am aware that they can appear a little odd, and that's why I hesitated to get them at first. Although I can't say the same for some of the other car things I bought on Amazon, I have had a lovely time with them since I installed them. They have done nothing but function perfectly. I struggled to locate in the reviews exactly what you need to install this on a truck, so I've done all of you a favor and written down what you need know before buying and installing this.Facts to consider:-Definitely purchase the 8 pod light set; it is the only item I could find that generates enough light to not look terrible.Buy two sets of the extensions on Amazon if you are purchasing the 8 pod set if your car is remotely long; doing so will save you a lot of time.-A switch is required to assist protect the battery; a MicTuning switch or any other switch purchased from a store will do.Download the MicTuning software from the AppStore, and the Bluetooth will connect in the top right corner of the screen. I installed mine myself, however the estimated cost to have this put in a shop is roughly $200. Sometimes the program slows, so if it doesn't work right away, simply give it some time.This should be useful to anyone who needs it. Overall, I think that these lights are a fantastic addition to my truck and that I truly adore them.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon; installed. I wanted to put rock lights, so I chose these rgb lights with the idea that I could occasionally change their color to look cool. With a fairly substantial metal chassis and flat and rounded rubber mounting pads, these lights are really nicely crafted. According to me, the brightness is just ideal for rock lights—not too bright that you can't look at them, but definitely bright enough. The kit also includes water-tight fast cable connections and sufficient cable length to attach the control unit next to an s-pod relay box under the hood of a Wrangler 2 door while still allowing the line to reach the back of the Jeep. Jeep Unlimited could need to move the mount a little or lengthen the cables. Accordingly, the main reason for the rating of 4 stars is that the white light option is terrible and merely presents a pyschedelic show of colors. The mounts only come with small bolt-through bolts and nuts, making them less than zip tie friendly. Some people may want to bolt these on, however zip ties would be ideal for these lightweight led lights. I don't want to drill numerous holes for these lights just to want to move them later. Zip ties, however, desire to slide off due to the tapering housings. You can thread your mounting zip ties through these and around your frame, cross member, etc. by passing them through the mount holes to the light's outside edge.
