I first rated these with five stars. They are well-made and a good, sincere effort to make living with a Jeep easier, whether you're in it or getting into it. After a few days, though, I realized I really spent more time attempting to make them function. In other words, it was more difficult to enter my JL since the stock Sahara's role bar is too low. There is no need for my arm to extend; all I have to do is place my hand there. I am unable to lift up without hitting my head on the role bar. The Jeep window frame's grab grip serves as the greatest handhold. These might be useful for a short passenger, but not for a tall one or a driver who is also tall. They might be easier to grasp onto when off-roading. That was not my intentional objective, but it may be the genuine one. They are a good product overall and obviously appeal to a lot of people. Therefore, don't allow this review stop you from buying these. They might be exactly what you need.

I recently underwent surgery, and now that my son is driving me around, he suggested that I purchase one of these because his small truck lacks a grab bar known as a "OH Sh t bar." The installation of these grab handles to my Jeep is fantastic. My daughter kept bumping her head on my sturdy grab bars, so I bought these handles for the back seats. They are reliable and simple to install and operate. The bracket for the soft top gets in the way of the solid back of the handlebars when a soft top is placed, which is the only problem I encountered. Two of the Velcro straps won't fit between the rear speakers and the mount because there isn't enough space, but if I only put one there, the handle is too far back to be effective. I ultimately had to turn the straps so that the backside was facing inward and out of the bracket's way. However, there is still some bunching between the speaker and bracket. There is no loss of effectiveness or utility. The handles are gorgeous. Just a little bit of thought was required to install them.

It's important to keep in mind that you should push down on it rather than pull up, or otherwise it will pop out. She loves it, however, and finds that it's 1000X easier to get into and out of the car with it (although sometimes that's hard for my old mother to remember). We believe that all of these types of vehicle canes are quite comparable. Regardless of whether they are more or less expensive, all of the ones we have are good.The plate around it (which is also metal) is getting a little scratched black after you put it in the metal ring that the car door closes into. I imagine some of these various types scratch more or less, depending on their design.Highly advised.

I only needed one, but having two was wonderful. On a 2018 Polaris Ranger Full with a round roll bar, these function perfectly. The roll bar has a diameter of 1.75 inches. When settling into the driver's seat, I saw myself grasping the roll bar on the windshield. Not a good idea since you virtually always make touch with the Lexan-coated windshield, which is vulnerable to scratches. This handle is held in place by three straps that are joined by a partial sheath. My roll bar's diameter is why the straps are a little bit longer than necessary. However, for a clean installation, add black plastic ties to bind the overlap. The handle does stay put as intended. These will be a wise investment if the sewing holds up as planned.

Purchased a pair of these on June 24, 2017, and have had both, the driver's and passenger's sides, on my Jeep ever since. Both functionsed correctly until the driver's side stopped working a few days ago. Getting in touch with the business about it, but not expecting anything. Given that it was in constant use and endured all four seasons of Arizona's weather, especially the heat, I can't really complain too much about it breaking. The buckle strap broke on one end, but the rest stayed on, preventing me from landing on my butt, which surprised me a little. You might only be able to obtain one year, I suppose.The company (Innovation Connection) is replacing them for free after I called them on July 2 and explained what happened. Awesome! They are upgraded to five stars as a result. They did advise me to look into a hard mount system, which is what I am doing, and that they were intended for stability whilst driving rather than for pulling oneself into the car. I have to admit that the installation wasn't as easy as I had anticipated. It seems to be very simple, however as several of these reviewers have noted, it appears that the bolts don't line up. They DO line up once I realized that you needed to place them on in a precise tactical order, and the setup on the second one went much more smoothly.I'll spare you the hassle: Before installing the spacers, thread the bolts through the handle's holes. After that, set the handle, bolts, and spacers, and begin screwing in the top bolt. The lower bolt will begin to line up as the top bolt is tightened. Start screwing in the lower bolt once it has been lined up. Once both screws are in position, you can tighten them both until the joint is stable.A ratchet set, a #6 Hex tool, and powerful hands are required.They are solid now that they are in position.My son tested it by swinging off of it. It is stable. The entire Jeep shook as I jiggled it, making the rollbar shake as well. The handle itself did not wiggle. I have complete trust in these handles.Only because the instructions essentially state "just put it together moron" did I give it a 4 instead of a 5. I had to use my own problem-solving abilities to determine how to get all the pieces to fit together correctly. AND it was difficult to use the hex tool in such a small, uncomfortable space. A person with delicate hands probably couldn't do that work.Overall, there were no issues at the end.

The handle bars that are manufactured in the Jeep are, for some reason, by the windshield; we purchased them for my husband's 2018 Jeep Rubicon JL. Which is really not a good location for them. Because, really, who leans against the window shield? No one! Just wanted to mention Jeep manufacture in case you were reading this.
