A bow that was thoughtfully constructed. The Bear Cub from the 1970s is the first youth bow that comes to mind when I think of this design. The rest is neatly capped, and the wood selection is lovely. Although it is marketed as having a stick-hair rest, mine was missing. I attached a 1/8" leather strip behind a Bear hair rest I already had (see photo). This offers a solitary point of contact for improved arrow flight.For a young adolescent or little adult seeking for a conventional bow to learn on, I believe this is a fantastic option. For newcomers of any age, I'd advise using the 20# weight. You should always use the bow stringer that is included with it while stringing or unstringing the bow because it is extremely good. While it is feasible to do this without a stringer, doing it that way greatly increases the likelihood of twisting the limbs and damaging the bow.Additionally, you'll require arrows. For a shooting from a shelf, this implies employing arrows with feather fletches. Even if the arrows are of poor quality, they should be adequate for practise. Better arrows could always be acquired in the future. The bow's stringing and assembly are both simple.

It is excellent quality for the price, which is why I gave it a 5-star rating. I was a little hesitant to buy a bow on Amazon, but I couldn't be happier. Purchased a 45# bow, which at my draw length probably draws closer to 50#. I had been using my father's 35# Browning fiberglass/laminate recurve for years, but I wanted to upgrade to a weapon that I might be able to use for hunting. With the same arrows I had for the recurve, I was impressed at how accurately I could shoot the bow right out of the box. This bow has a little bit more hand shock than my recurve, but it is more accurate, a little bit quieter, and doesn't strain my fingers as much as I had hoped.****Update: I still adore the bow after a few months of owning it and posting the initial review. Absolutely happy with the purchase! I converted the original infinite loop string to a Flemish fast-flight, added beaver balls, and fine-tuned it using three-river-sourced wood for the arrows. It is so silent and shoots so well, man! When you initially pick up the gun, the leather handle does wiggle very slightly, but I haven't experienced any problems with it effecting my shooting. This deer hunting season, I intend to use a bow, which takes me to a little criticism. I wish the large white "pioneer" engraved on the top limb wasn't there. I worry that it might flash game, especially when shooting. Even though I was aware of this before to buying the bow, I figured I could deal with it given the cost.

I tested and measured a bunch of supposedly kid-friendly bows, and this one is the best! Each year, hundreds of students in the second through sixth grades use the archery range where I work at a camp and conference facility. For the older youngsters, the ancient 20-pound recurves work just fine, but the younger ones have trouble with them. The kids usually prefer our two ancient, perfect 9.5-lb bows, but they are no longer produced. Despite having a lower weight rating, several bows targeted for kids are equally as challenging to draw as our 20lb bows. It performs similarly to our smaller ones in terms of draw weight, feel, and performance. When a child has never touched a bow before, they can quickly learn the value of patience through archery and say, "I did it!" About a dozen more of them will be mine! The same could be said for my 5-year-old grandson.A complementary performance test would be to purchase a poplar arrow with synthetic feather fletches rather than the more expensive fiberglass arrows with their usual stiffer fletches (wings/feathers). The arrow's nose-dive-like flight, which doesn't level off until far beyond the range of a kid-sized range, is caused by the stiffer fletches, which cause the arrow to bounce off the bow as it passes the hand grip. Due to the arrow's flight pattern, which places its mass in front of the head rather than behind it, it will bounce off the target a lot. Some of those fiberglass arrows also have a head that fits over the shaft, making it broader than the shaft. When the arrow is pulled out of the target, the wider head becomes trapped in the target.

This bow is great for both men and women. Since purchasing this bow in July 2016, I have fired 150–200 arrows with it on average five days a week (with a draw weight of 45 lbs). I haven't used a bow in for than 20 years, and I last used one at summer camp. It was obvious that I was essentially starting from zero.Now that November has arrived, it still shoots flawlessly. Once you develop a regular shooting form that is not merely from a standing position, it is highly accurate and precise. I have been shooting with it in a variety of positions because I intend to use it for hunting, including leaning over trees, lying on the ground, and standing on one leg and bending over a log to get under branches. If you learn how to shoot, you can hit your target consistently no matter what. I can consistently hit my 3D deer target for death shots (about 80% of the time) from all angles and positions, and when I use competition targets, I often get groups that are 3-4 inches in diameter total from 25-30 yards... but I still have a lot of form issues to work on.It should be interesting to see how a 99 dollar bow compares to a 300 dollar bow that gets rave reviews from high profile archers who claim that you have to get a custom-made bow to get anything better. I will update this to compare with my Bearpaw Slick Stick (50 lb draw weight, arrives in a week or so), since I will want the most consistent bow possible for my hunting adventures.But I'm going to shoot this bow from my horse.A single 12-arrow series of shots was used to capture the image of the deer target, and they were fired from a variety of angles. The other image is a group shot from 25 to 30 yards away. It wasn't my best shooting, but it turned out well in the end. I was going for the potato in the middle. The cheap, fully untuned arrows I'm using might interest you all. I've heard that when you truly take the time to tune your bow and arrows properly, accuracy goes up quite a bit, but I haven't done that yet.

Well, it's a Black Hunter, and they were probably all produced by the same company. My copy had some glue smears. Excellent customer service from SinoArt including offers to return, refund, and reorder the bow. During our conversation, the support representative advised trying to dissolve the adhesive with hot water as the bow's other components were all in working order. So I was able to remove the glue using my teapot and a wooden chopstick, neat. uploaded before and after pictures.The riser, the limb bushings and bolts (black), the string, two nock points for the string (one is a spare), the "bear fur" material for the shelf and back plate, and a bow-stringer were all delivered to me. also a page with instructions on how to put the bow together. As the instructions on the page were a little too small for me to read properly, I uploaded pictures showing how to use the bow-stringer.Mine has a very understated Black Hunter logo, which I adore. There are numerous YouTube reviews of the bow that mention how well it shoots and how attractive it looks. I intend to use mine for 3D archery and possibly for hunting; it came with 40 pound limbs. Get the 30 pound limbs if you're new to traditional archery; it will be simpler to learn and more fun.Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I can't yet remark on its durability because it's new; perhaps after a year.

First of all, the box that this bow came in was well sealed and contained all of the parts. I read a review that claimed the bow didn't have a string, but IT DOES. Instructions, labeled limbs (so you know top from bottom), limb mounting bolts, a tool for the bolts, a carrying bag, and an arrow rest are all included. I saw a review with a picture that stated, "Bow is not as pictured." I'm sorry, but did you not even look at the bow's picture before you bought it? The limbs were definitely attached incorrectly. In addition to being numbered, each limb has a tiny bevel at the ends where the string sits. If you utilize the supplied arrow rest, there are also no scratches left on the bow from the arrows. If you don't know how to string a bow, you might require a bow stringer; otherwise, check out YouTube for a variety of methods. Additionally, I fail to see how you could ever snap these limbs unless you have assembled the bow improperly or have completely disregarded how to handle a bow. The bow cannot be driven firmly into the ground and forced to bend just enough to be strung. The limbs can only bend in one direction, evenly bending from the ends. Without a bow stringer, I've already strung and unstringed this bow numerous times without encountering any issues (as you should NEVER leave a recurve bow with its string on when not using it) This bow shoots quite well from a shooting perspective. I never would have guessed that a bow this affordable could perform as well as some much more expensive ones. With this bow, I can obtain a reliable grouping right out of the box. Please do the creators/sellers of this bow a favor and do your study on how to use and care for your bow if you are purchasing this as your first bow. I dislike it when customers who are ignorant leave negative reviews for a fantastic product and an even better value. This product is excellent since it is nicely made and performs better than expected. I really like the bow and the arrows, and the product documentation was also available for beginning users. It is easy to use and of decent quality. There was nothing missing from the equipment.
