Yes, floating thermometers are accurate. They are designed to float in the water and measure the water temperature.
While mercury aquarium thermometers are commonly used, they are not always accurate. This is because mercury expands and contracts with changes in temperature, which can cause the mercury level to change and give an inaccurate reading. If you are using a mercury aquarium thermometer, check it regularly to make sure it is still accurate.
Yes, you can use a digital thermometer to check water temperature. You will want to make sure that the thermometer is placed in the water for a few minutes to get an accurate reading.
A meat thermometer can be used for fish, but it is not the ideal tool. Fish is best cooked using a food thermometer because they can be easily overcooked.

I'm so glad I bought this to replace my old, inferior in-tank thermometer! It looks much nicer and functions far better than the other. The fact that you can choose a high and low temperature is really cool, and it's also quite simple to use.BUT HOLD ON, THERE'S MORE!You don't have to immediately go shopping for a replacement battery because they come with an additional one for when the first one dies! I've seen some folks express dissatisfaction with that, but whatever. I don't know what to say to you if you genuinely can't find a place to keep a single tiny additional battery.

I moved downstairs and can now have as many aquariums as I want after not having an aquarium for a few years, in part because I lived upstairs and the floor wasn't as sturdy as I would like for a big tank. But doing so necessitates purchasing a ton of new gear once more. I cherished the opportunity to purchase two items for just a few dollars more than one. Amazing offer! I've got one of them set up in my 20-gallon tank, and as soon as I get my 55 flowing again, I'll put up the second one. I've always used floating thermometers or glass-sticking strips, but I've never been particularly satisfied with them. Since I had several strips showing drastically different temperatures on the same tank, I never trusted them. Additionally, the floating thermometers tended to either float or turn away from you, and the suction-cup thermometers were always in the viewing area, making them occasionally difficult for me to read without my glasses. I adore being able to pinpoint my tank's temperature to the tenth degree. I can move the probe wherever I want because of the lengthy cord, and it is hidden. I turn off the display after the temperature in my tank has stabilized, but I can turn it back on whenever I want to check it, which means the battery won't need to be changed as frequently. Additionally, the display pops on and off of the suction cup effortlessly, allowing me to attach it to the rear of my aquarium without it taking up space in the viewing area. I've used a number of different thermometers to monitor the temperature, and this one seems to be extremely accurate. If I ever set up more than two tanks, I'll come back for more because I'm satisfied with my purchase.

This little digital thermometer is useful for getting a precise reading of the temperature in your aquarium. I use mine in a 65-gallon community tank, and it assisted me in setting the right temperature after I purchased a new Eheim heater, which may or may not need calibration to heat to the right temperature. This Zacro was compared to a glass thermometer used in a chemistry lab at my place of employment, and the results were accurate. The proximity of the Zacro's temperature probe to the heater and water flow from air pumps, filters, etc. are to blame for it being within.5 to.7 of a degree of the temperature I have the heater set to. I know I'm okay to go as long as my temperature is within a degree of what I want it to be.The probe has a suction cup of its own that can move up or down the probe's wire, allowing you to suction the probe inside the tank either high or low, depending on your preferences. The Zacro can be fastened to the glass surfaces of your tank using suction cups. I periodically switch mine on to check the temperature and then off to conserve battery life. The Zacro is a discreet, little device. My thermometer is complemented with a conventional aquarium thermometer, and it is put on the side.Since I've been an aquarium hobbyist for over 25 years, I can affirm that this small, incredibly affordable piece of equipment is crucial for maintaining the temperature where your fish require it for their own wellbeing. So go ahead and purchase one; you won't be sorry.

From the beginning, I ordered a digital thermometer from Qooltek, and it was delivered fast. However, the device did not work as it should, and the instructions were, to put it mildly, "extremely ambiguous." After I submitted my initial review, "Rose" at Qooltek sent me an email to discuss the matter and inform me that I had reportedly received a defective product.Rose informed me that a reading of "Lo" indicates that the unit is defective. She told me they were going to send me a new thermometer. I have the following update regarding said thermometer:"product upgrade After publishing my initial review, "Rose" from Qooltek contacted me and informed me that I had received a faulty thermometer and that they would make it right by sending me a replacement. I found it impressive that businesses genuinely read the product reviews left by customers. Rose informed me through email that the device was broken if the digital reading showed Lo.""Rose did, however, send a brand-new unit, and I'm delighted to report that it arrived undamaged and functions pretty well. I use this thermometer to check the water's temperature as it travels through my basement's pex line from the wood boiler outdoors.""I've changed my original review to read, "I strongly recommend this firm and their items." On their website, there are instructions that, to be honest, don't offer much to read beyond the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The probe head need not be positioned exactly in the middle, Rose said to me; it can instead be placed near to the object whose temperature you are monitoring. Enough droning on. Qooltek delivered on their promise, and Rose was a delight to speak with. She will put any problems you had right. I heartily endorse Qooltek."My STAR rating increases to a HIGH FIVE after obtaining the new thermometer!

This thermometer was purchased so that we could monitor the water temperature for our fish. Due to the water being too cold, our last fish perished. To better control the water temperature, I got a heater. Our fish will be added soon. I waited to purchase a fish until I had the heater checked, and so far, the water temperature has increased by 10 degrees and is remaining at that level. The suction cup sticks to the side of the acrylic tank and hasn't caused any issues; the thermometer is simple to operate. The digital portion is visible on the tank's exterior and is simple to read.

I was making use of one of those common inexpensive digital thermometers from Amazon. Along with it, the temperature varied considerably. And I recently began to seriously mistrust it. It was 6 degrees hotter than the digital when I ordered this guy! Indeed, the digital thermometer was 6 degrees wrong. For a month, my poor fish lived in water that was 86 degrees. I just started this hobby. Since he is a betta, the temperature is at the uppermost end of the high range. I'm just so happy I purchased this.In a cup filled to the brim with ice and some water, I tested this. This thermometer was calibrated correctly because it read 32 degrees. The digital thermometer displayed 26. A digital thermometer is something I don't think I can ever trust.Suction cup is adhered to the surface. The thermometer cannot be turned to face a specific direction. I don't mind because it was so inexpensive. It costs $2.49. Very well done. and can be quickly concealed beneath a plant. I'm fairly certain that the reviews who said the suction cup broke or left a mark have acrylic tanks. probably acrylic of poor grade. This $2.49 thermometer is 100 percent accurate.UPDATE: I've compared this thermometer to a few digital thermometers now. One is a very costly digital. This thermometer is extremely precise.

I wasn't certain if I would require 10, but Every time I pass a mirror, I see a person with white hair that is frizzy, a long lab coat, and insane eyes attaching digital thermometers to jars that are constantly being delivered to my house. I suppose I needed them then!Regarding the items themselves, removing the backing is not particularly difficult. Simply tuck a raggedy, uncut nail under the thermometer's top corner. Drag a small flat bone, pestle, dull side of a blade, etc. carefully down so that it sticks nicely without any wrinkles or bubbles, then slowly peel the backing off the sticky end of the specimen jar. The thermometer is fairly thick, so it's not difficult to insert it without creating bubbles, but the master might become irate if it begins to curl or peal, so focus on your one task and keep to yourself.Since they are not heat resistant and putting a torch in too close might be hazardous, it is excellent that the area over the suggested temperature is highlighted extremely brightly so that it is not difficult to read even in the low lit areas around the dungeon.TL;DR: You need 10 if you just need one. Order these. They might even keep you off the chopping block. Fahrenheit would be pleased with that.

This thermometer is fantastic, and I just bought it. Just having a thermometer fixed on the glass didn't satisfy me. I was curious about the temperature in the precise spot where my BP was hidden. You can see from the images that I was able to use this thermometer to run the temperature probe beneath the tank bedding and right into his comfortable hiding place. By placing the temperature readout box on top of the tank, I can quickly determine the temperature with the push of a button. It seems to be really true. The only issue I can identify is that the read out box's suction cup doesn't seem to hold very well. Instead, I'll secure it with a tiny piece of Velcro. The wire's suction cup appears to be holding up well. Because it is LCD, the screen isn't the brightest to look at, but you can still see it just fine. Brightening it would probably cause the battery to discharge more quickly. I'm extremely pleased overall and would probably get another for my corn snake. particularly at this cost. A wise investment and no-brainer.

Although I had some hesitations, this is a fantastic small gadget. It seems to track the trend effectively, although it tends to disagree by around 10% with my inkbird humidity controller, which I need to sort out. Although the temperature looks to be very precise, I would need to try calibrating it to find out for sure. It has been living in my vivarium for around two months, and I don't believe it will experience any problems. The leakage problem appears to be resolved, therefore I believe they improved it. I keep the humidity in my tropical vivarium, where I raise dart frogs, in the 90s by creating fake rain and fog. That hasn't caused any problems for this gadget.

As always, I used my own, hard-earned money to purchase this item at the going rate. Additionally, I have absolutely no connections to anyone who may have earned even a single penny from the purchase. Just saying, ***For over 45 years, I have kept aquariums. This magnet thermometer is the best one on the market when conditions are ideal. You'll wonder why no one considered it before. It may be placed anywhere in the tank and moved whenever you like, even from one tank to another, if you so choose, in a matter of seconds. It is always in the same place and is very simple to see and read. It is far superior in this regard than the widely used, affordable, and practical color-changing ones that adhere to the exterior of the tank like a piece of tape (it is probably more accurate than those too). Additionally, it is preferable to floating books that I can read easily but never find or suction cup books that, like 90% of all aquarium "suction cup" items, never stay stuck and fall to the bottom of the tank. Even the expensive electronic digital thermometers that require an unsightly and bothersome wired probe in the tank are preferable to this thermometer in my opinion. We already have too many wires and hoses to manage.Keep in mind that I mentioned "in the proper situation." My 20-gallon tank, which I use for breeding and raising young, now has a Smarttemp Thermometer in it, and it works beautifully for this purpose. The magnet will be less successful at holding the thermometer in place, though, if the glass of the tank is thicker and the fish are larger and more rowdy. For example, it might not remain in place as effectively on a 200 gallon tank with much thicker glass that is home to, say, 6 inch long Bala Sharks that are widely known for being highly rambunctious and rowdy. It would probably be knocked loose a lot in this situation. However, I assure you that people with smaller or medium-sized tanks with calm, average-sized fish will also enjoy it.
Aquarium thermometers are an important tool for monitoring water temperature, which can have a big impact on the health of your fish. But do stick-on aquarium thermometers work? Generally speaking, stick-on aquarium thermometers are quite accurate. However, there are a few things to keep in mind for optimal results. First, make sure the thermometer is placed on the outside of the aquarium glass, in an area that is not shaded by plants or other objects. Second, avoid placing the thermometer near the aquarium heater or filter, as these can skew the reading
A strip thermometer is placed on the outside of the tank, typically on the glass.
Sticker thermometers are a popular way to check the temperature of food, but how accurate are they? While sticker thermometers are not as accurate as digital or mercury thermometers, they are still reasonably accurate. If you are using a sticker thermometer to check the temperature of food, make sure to place it in the thickest part of the food. Sticker thermometers are not recommended for use in deep frying, as the oil can cause the thermometer to give a false reading. Overall, sticker thermometers are a convenient and affordable way to check the
A digital thermometer is a great way to get an accurate reading of the temperature in your aquarium. They are easy to use and can be placed in the water or on the outside of the tank.
Aquarium thermometer strips are placed inside the aquarium, and as the water temperature changes, the color of the strip also changes. The most common type of aquarium thermometer strip uses a chemical called thermochromic liquid crystal (TLC). When the water temperature changes, the TLC changes color.
If your aquarium thermometer is off by even a couple degrees, it can create an unhealthy environment for your fish. To calibrate your aquarium thermometer, you'll need to use a reference thermometer that is accurate to within plus or minus 0.5 degrees Celsius. Place the reference thermometer in the aquarium next to the one you wish to calibrate. Wait 15 minutes, then compare the two readings. If they differ by more than 0.5 degrees, adjust the calibration knob on your aquarium thermometer until the two readings match.
