Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Gravel Tube, 24-Inch Review:

We have been using the Python for about a year I think so far and after using another brand for quite a few years, this one is superior in performance with ONE exception. The tube is too small for our tanks larger than 29, and we had to replace ALL GASKETS with pink rubber gaskets that you use for garden hoses. Otherwise the system leaked.

This attachment makes cleaning the larger tanks a breeze. Originally purchased for a 75 gallon tank I have yet to set up, this attachment makes cleaning our 36 bow front and 29 gallon tank much easier. We also use the green hook over the top to refill the water, which is a pretty quick change. It will be handier for the 75 gallon tank which will need more refill water.

One word of warning- make sure you replace the black gasket in this attachment with a rubber garden hose gasket (those pink ones). If you don't it will leak. We have done this to the entire system and it changed it from an almost return to a fantastic system. No leaks and quite sturdy.

Great for larger tanks, this attachment works great and is easier to handle so that your hands are not submerged into the tank the entire time. As long as the gasket is replaced with the rubber kind that you use for garden hoses, it works like a charm. Without the replacement, it leaks.

FIVE STARS- LOVE this size for our bigger tanks, and the easy swapability with the green hook for refilling larger tanks.

Python Pro-Clean Gravel Washer Siphon Kit Review:

I needed a longer tubed siphon to clean the substrate of my 29 since those are deeper than all my other tanks. At 18 inches deep for a 29 gal, it's much harder to gravel vac with the regular tube I had. This tube size is correctly labeled at 20 inches. I saw all sorts of sizes listed when I asked the question, so maybe the reviewers were reviewing different siphons, because this one is definitely 20 inches long for the tube portion that attaches to the siphon hose. Perfect length for getting to the bottom of my 29 so I"m not drenched to the armpits!

And the price was great at $10! Well worth it. I wish I could swap it out on my Python, but those connections are really glued in well on that green portion. My smaller ones easily come off. I think after a longer time of using it, maybe that connection would ease up, or maybe it's just that I am a weakling, LOL. But, it's not an issue for me right now as my faucet is not working properly with my Python anyway, sooo hence this purchase. Again, love it and highly recommend for the deeper tanks like a 29 gallon which is 18 inches deep.

This brand is great quality as well. I have accidentally stepped on other ones I've had and they have not cracked! They are very well made. I recommend highly.

Python Pro Clean-Mini 1" x 6" Tube with 6 ft. Hose Review:

Our fish tank is approximately 12 feet from our kitchen sink. My kitchen sink has a newer model faucet with an integrated vegetable sprayer, so the "25 Foot - Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System" was incompatible. For that reason I bought this product. I didn't want to use a bucket, and every siphon product I found like this one was only 6 feet or less. I was able to work around the problem by extending the hose after I purchased this product.

To work around the problem of needing to extend the hose I made a visit to the hardware store, and purchased the following items:

1. Nylon Hose Barb 1/4 in ID
2. Stainless Steel Clamp 1/4" to 5/8" (2 pack)
3. 3/8" OD x 1/4" ID Vinyl tubing, which the hardware store had on a large spindle. I simply pulled 10 feet, and cut for the length I needed.

I attached two pictures of what I did to extend the tube. Now when I need to empty the tank for cleanings I simply run the tube those 12 feet, squeeze "Python Squeeze Siphon Starter Aquarium Adapter" a couple of times, and as soon as I see the water starting to come down the tubing I put the hose in the drain of my sink and leave the room. After I come back 10 to 30 minutes later the tank is empty and no messes to worry about.

I still give this product 5 stars even though I had to modify it to fit my needs. The product itself is great, and worthy every penny. I hope this review helps someone with a similar situation.

Zacro Fish Tank Gravel Cleaner - Aquarium Cleaning Pump Kit for Fish Tank, with Large Airbag and Adjustable Water Flow Controller for Water Changing and Gravel Cleaning-BPA Free Review:

I reserve giving 5 stars to products that excel in quality, price and value. This product gets all 5 stars.

In two of my images, you'll see a blue hose next to a more expensive white one. This review is about the blue aquarium water/gravel cleaning hose.

First, about the white one. It cost me $3 more and arrived with a pin-hole leak in the hose. The plastic hose is so thin and non-flexible that I know from experience it will barely last two or three months. The hose has different sized ends and doesn't flex back, so when you plug it in, it will stretch and eventually lose the seal. The hose crimps very easily and won't recover from the crimp, meaning, it will break there more sooner than later. I gave it a justified 2-star rating.

This less expensive blue hose is a very high quality hose. It is consistent on both ends meaning if you want a shorter one or a longer one, you can buy a replacement cheaply at the big-box home improvement store.

You can see that it is much bigger than the white one. The aquarium it is draped over for the pictures is a 29/30 gallon aquarium. I'm glad the hose comes with a valve because the hose is so large it drains the aquarium very, very fast!

It has a screen in the gravel-cup to keep the fish from being sucked up, but it also means it can get clogged by loose plant debris as well. The good news is that you can stick a dowel into the smaller end of the cup and push it out of the wider end if you don't want it.

The hose has an anti-crimp piece so you can mount it to your aquarium glass. LOL It's hard to crimp this hose. If it does crimp, it's strong enough to flex back to normal without leaving a weak bend in the hose to break later.

The valve has great flappers and works perfectly and is made of a quality rubber or plastic that should last many years.

The gravel cup is made of a reasonably stiff, but flexible, almost rubbery plastic. But, be careful with it. If you crimp the edges of it, you could cause it to crack.

The piece of pipe that plugs in between the hose and the gravel cup is a stiff piece of plastic that is pretty sturdy. Under normal use, I don't think you'll every have a problem with it, but it does feel like it could break if you force-bend it far harder than you should ever do in cleaning an aquarium.

The hose is a think gauge, probably equal to schedule 40, and it's heavy. It's heavier than any other cleaner hose I've used.

If I used it in my 40 Gallon tall (I'm trying to find it a new home) my hand would have to go into the water just a little to clean the gravel. But, for the 20, 30 and 55 gallon tanks, it's a perfect size.

My 10 gallon tank is up high. The long tube means I have to hold my hand pretty high above the aquarium. The fast flow means I have to keep the valve turned down so I don't take out too much water.

One pump in any tank starts the flow.

The only thing "cheap" about this product is the gravel cup. It's a far cry better than the white one in the picture, but you need to consciously to protect it. If you do, it should last for years.

Because of the gravel cup, I give this a 4.6 stars, which can only be flagged as 5 stars. I think this product qualifies well for the five star rating I gave it. And I don't give 5 stars very often.

I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it for anyone with aquariums larger than 10 gallons. (It will work with a 10 gallon, but it's a bit of an over-kill). I also have a 5 gallon that isn't set up right now, but I'm sure I'll find a different hose to use to clean it.

If this review is attached to the blue hose in my pictures, get it! It's well worth it. (I recognize that sometimes reviews are somehow moved to similar, but different products, thus the disclaimer.)

SSRIVER Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Fish Tank Kit Long Nozzle Water Changer for Water Changing and Filter Gravel Cleaning with Air-Pressing Button and Adjustable Water Flow Controller- BPA Free Review:

I've been using another one that uses a short plastic tube with a 3" diameter and I always disliked having to reach my whole arm in 55g tall just to reach the bottom! It finally broke after 10 years of use so I could justify buying a new one! I bought this one and I absolutely love it. It's so easy. I just put both tubes together, touch it to the bottom of the tank (24") and pump only 4-5 pumps and starts! I pushed the tip down into the substrate and pulled the ditritus out right away. I had to shake the substrate out of the bottom inch of the tube only twice! I love that it doesn't pull a lot of water out so I can actually clean the whole substrate during one cleaning! The other one pulled water out so fast that I was never able to clean the whole bottom at one time. I even separated the tubes and used it to clean my small 5 gallon! I would highly recommend this! I am so pleased with it and I don't have to put my hands in the aquarium which is a lot healthier for my 8 year old Angels! Don't hesitate to get this!

Gravel Vacuum for Aquarium - Fish Tank Gravel Cleaner- Aquarium Vacuum Cleaner - Aquarium Siphon - 8 Foot Long Aquarium Gravel Cleaner With mini Net Review:

I was hesitant about buying this but I was getting really sick of cleaning out my fish tanks, 1) water, 2) goldfish. The goldfish get really bad. One thing that helped was stirring up the bottom a bit and then pumping into a larger bucket. I also used this LinkinsLegacy cleaner in my kitchen sink. It got clogged with a small plastic container that got caught in the disposal. I'm thinking of other ways this could be used! I haven't had it for long but I had been looking for something and I have used it 4x's WITHOUT leaking, which was one thing I was worried about. This unit includes 1) a adjustable water flow pump and 2) a fish net that helped stir the bottom and move the fish.

NICREW Automatic Gravel Cleaner, Electric Aquarium Cleaner, Sludge Extractor for Medium and Large Tanks Review:

I started messing around with aquariums back in the early 90s. Back then, the only option I found for cleaning your gravel was the old tube at the end of a siphon. It was messy, hard to use and a real pain in the butt. It made me want to put off cleaning the tank longer than I should have.

As my life went on I got o0ut of the "aquarium biz" and my tank laid dormant in my basement for 17 years. Just last year we were able to move to a bigger house and I decided to set up my tank again. Low and behold, the WONDERS of technology that happened while I was gone. I mean, LED lights with night and day setting, automatic feeders you can run from your smart phone and THIS little beauty.

I LOVE this thing. IT's SO easy to use. You just fit the nozzle on the end, plug it in with its nice 6 ft cord and go to town. It has a nice little mesh enclosure that catches all of the junk. When you're done, you just remove the mesh compartment and rinse it off with water. You don't have to run a hose, though you can if you want to with the convenient one provided for you. This you can use for water changes. But so far I've just used it to change the gravel. Even the fish were fascinated as I sucked up all of their leavings.

I would highly recommend this item. I have a 60 gallon tank and it cleaned it in no time. They even have a battery operated version if you don't want to use a cord. If you have a fish tank that is currently green and full of sludge, BUY THIS NOW!!!

STARROAD-TIM Fish Tank Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Kit Long Nozzle Water Changer for Water Changing and Filter Gravel Cleaning with Air-Pressing Button and Adjustable Water Flow Controller- BPA Free Review:

This worked so well I was amazed - I thought that for the price it might be flimsy and useless like others that I paid more for, but I bought it based on the glowing reviews-and they were right on target. Just a few pumps and it immediately pulled water into the hose but allowed me to move it around easily to "vacuum" the bottom. The tube length was perfect for the height of my aquarium (12"), but it has an extension if I would have needed it. The scraper worked well also. The hose is long and pliant, making it easy to reach my bucket, and the clip worked perfectly to hold it into place on the bucket. I am very pleased with this product!
