After 17 years, the fob loop on my 2001 4Runner was entirely worn through. I had my doubts about how well disassembling the old one and inserting the guts into the new fob body would function, but it seems to have worked flawlessly! The only real change is that I have to press down slightly harder on the new button than I did on the old fob buttons. The product visuals show white text and icons, however the one I received is a very light grey instead (sort of hard to read against the black). I gave it five stars since I avoided spending money on a brand-new keychain.

Had no trouble cutting or programming the new transponder key for the 2010 Ford Focus utilizing the vehicle's two original keys. There is no requirement for a programming machine because the car is equipped to add new keys as long as two existing keys are present and functional. It has produced the new case for the programmed remote and the blank key that it was intended to.Beware of buyers:1) The remote is missing from it. You must purchase one from the dealer and have it customized for your vehicle.2) The majority of locations, if not all, can cut the supplied key so that it really starts your automobile. In my experience, two stores claimed they could not cut this key because it was a third-party key and they were not permitted to do so, but one store claimed they could cut it even though it was not a key the store gave. The key itself would not start my car, even after they cut it for me. My understanding is that I would have to visit the dealer, purchase a key from them, then pay for them to cut the key (they also would not accept outsider keys).So, it's at the very least a new casing for my remote that I can use to open my car and other things. Thank goodness I kept my old key so I could start my automobile. However, you'll have to go to the car dealer if you want to purchase it as a spare key.

I purchased this remote shell because the portion of my remote that links to the keychain broke off. Remember that this is only the outside covering of your remote's inner workings; the full remote control would need programming. If your remote is in working order but has a cracked or broken component, all you need is a shell like this one. The top, bottom, and inner rubber seal that protects the interior of your remote control are all separate pieces. With a coin or flathead screwdriver, pry open both your old and new housing where the indentation is. I opened the black Rubber seal that the internal parts of my damaged remote control were enclosed in to remove them. I then took the seal's guts out and put them into the seal that was included with the new shell. fit flawlessly. Just pay close attention to the button placement on the guts; you'll see one small nub that looks unusual there that will roll the back glass down. Make sure to align it appropriately with the corresponding buttons on the shell. Next, take note of the panic button next to the battery and align it with the matching red button on the rear of the new shell. Don't give up, it takes a minute to snap the new shell together. You need to keep one side tightly together while forcing the other side to close. The FCC numbers that this shell is compatible with are given in the listing, and the number on the back of my genuine Toyota remote matched those numbers. Perfect fit and operation! Wow! I'm amazed.

This was a rather good workaround for fixing a 2009 RX original key's shattered cover. Although the end result was very satisfying, there were two problems that I encountered, which is why I rate it as "near perfect." First off, unlike the original screw, the cover's included screw is not a machine screw. The issue is that the screw is a little self-threading one. The pre-drilled hole in the receptacle demands using a lot of torque to tighten the screw, and in my case, trying to do so only led to the screw head almost completely breaking, making it challenging to even apply enough torque to unscrew it. In the end, I was able to tighten it until only a barely perceptible open seam along the case's key side was left. Really, I mean hardly. You might not see it unless you were looking for it.The lock button is sunken in the cover when everything is put together, which is another problem from the original design. Although this can be felt, it has no bearing on functionality. Simply put, it's not the same as the original.USEFUL GUIDE:If you purchase the shell-only model, you will have to remove the factory key's metal key, which necessitates removing the original shell's remnants. I discovered that using a heat gun to soften the plastic surrounding the key made it much easier to pry the key free than it was to physically fracture or crush the plastic. Although it still destroys the original shell, I thought it was preferable than employing force and running the danger of a damaged key.Cheers.

The plastic portion of my Honda Odyssey key was broken by my son. At first, I believed that "duck tape solves everything." It was quite inadequate, and my husband teased me for it. Ha ha. I then reasoned that I could avoid paying the dealership $150 to cut a key for me if I simply purchased another plastic piece.I therefore purchased this key in the hopes that I could simply slide my metal key component into the plastic cover, transfer the guts, and be done with it. The key is unfortunately attached. Auto Zone declined my request because they lacked the equipment to cut it. Pop a Lock proposed a price of $115. At that cost, I might as well spend $150 on a new key from Honda. I took the Honda key there, and for $80 they cut and programmed it. Since the key wasn't made by them, they weren't sure if it would function, but it did.

I can't believe I paid $265 for a new key, but I wasn't sure whether I could revive my broken keys. After purchasing a two-pack of the 90-degree-leg rechargeable VL2020 batteries, I disconnected the old batteries from the circuit board in the original keyfobs. On YouTube, there are a few videos that demonstrate how to open sealed keyfobs and remove the circuit board. I assembled the new replacement key fobs by snapping the circuit boards into each one before soldering the new batteries into position. I also took off the blank metal key that was included and put my own metal keys in its place. Perfectly, they fit, appear, and perform. I currently have 3 key fobs that are brand new looking and work perfectly. My only real complaint is that the keyfobs should have the 868 MHz frequency printed on the back instead of the 315 MHz that is on mine. Since the letters eventually wear out, this is really not a huge concern at all. I am really happy with this seller and my purchase.
