Doctor here with IBS-D. I've had great success with this product. After taking it for the first time, I had my first regular BM in many, many months the following day. Although I've also found Heather's Tummy Tamers to be effective, these appear to have a better enteric coating. I get no minty reflux at all if eaten on an empty stomach and with moderate amounts of water. Although the cost is more than Heather's, I'm willing to spend extra to prevent reflux. For those who are curious, the reflux is caused by peppermint oil's ability to relax smooth muscles. The smooth muscle that lines the inside of the gut contracts excessively, violently, or irregularly when someone has IBS. But what stops reflux is the gastroesophageal sphincter, which is likewise a smooth muscle. Reflux results from relaxing it with peppermint. Enteric coatings function by resisting dissolution in an acidic setting, such as your stomach. However, if you eat or drink while the peppermint capsule is in your stomach, you will have reflux because the coating will dissolve. Take your enteric-coated peppermint, whether it's this brand or Heather's, 30 to 60 minutes to an hour before dining. Use just enough water to ensure that you get the recommended dosage.When used to treat IBS, peppermint oil has a very low "number needed to treat"—about 2.5. In other words, 2 out of every 5 patients who receive peppermint oil treatment will benefit. Although that may not sound like a good figure, in pharmacology it is a very good NNT. Contrast this with something like Xifaxan, which has an NNT of 11 and costs $900–1,800 per month, and it becomes clear that peppermint oil is a winner. For comparison, the NNT for prescription antispasmodics like Bentyl and Levsin is in the range of 3–7, which is also quite good. And from a cost/side effect/NNT combination perspective, it's nearly impossible to top with a low cost and low side effect profile.Try using peppermint oil. If you don't have any reflux issues, try Heather's first because it's much less expensive. IBS is complex in its causes. If peppermint oil doesn't work for you, your issue may not be with gastrointestinal hyper- or dismotility; instead, you should try a FODMAP diet, prebiotics, probiotics, and exercise (that one is for everyone no matter what, of course). If it even slightly aids, you will still require something else. And for some fortunate people, this will be all they require.

Because of my IBS, I go through a lot of Imodium replacement items. I haven't previously tried this particular brand. The packaging was consistent with that of other high-quality goods, in my opinion. The cap is secure from children and simple to grip and remove. I like that the child-resistant cap is secure while still being simple to open. The product itself works just as well as Imodium does while costing a lot less.

Nowadays, finding the larger lopermaide bottles is nearly impossible, especially since Wal-Mart no longer stocks bottles bigger than 48ct in their stores. If you're wanting to purchase more than 48ct at once, these BJ brand ones are virtually identical to the Equate brand, and you won't find a better price. Purchase before they are also gone!

These significantly aid in controlling my "episodes" as someone with IBS-D and Crohn's disease and get me closer to leading a relatively normal life. Although they don't halt the diarrhoea, they do lessen its frequency and urgency. We'll have to wait and see if I need these in the future since I don't take any further Crohn's medications, but they do assist, and I think the multi-symptom is better than the ordinary ones.

These soft gels work as intended. Simply peel back and pop out to release the blister pack, in my opinion. would be more practical if it came in a bottle on its own. And why can I only have four at most per day when I need more after radiation therapy?
