Heavy Duty | Winterize Sprinkler Systems | Blowout Lines | Air Compressor Quick Connect 1/4" Adapter | Fits Garden Hose 3/4" Threading | Easily Blowout Water Lines Faucets Hoses | Winterize with Ease Review:

Worked perfectly, included a rubber hose washer. I normally blow out my irrigation system lines using a fitting attached to the test cock of my vacuum breaker, but when that wasn't sealing and any air was escaping as fast as I pumped it in, I needed an alternate solution. Fortunately, the line that supplies my system includes a hose spigot after the vacuum breaker, so I could close the ball valve just past the breaker, attach this adapter to the hose spigot and push air through the irrigation system zones - problem solved! It is actually a better solution for me and I will use this technique from now on. I'll try to include a photo in a few days.

High Volume Powerful Industrial Air Blow Gun with 14-21 Inch Extensible Stainless Steel Air Flow Nozzle,Pneumatic Air Compressor Accessories Tool Dust Air Blower Gun-Extended to 26 Inch Total Size Review:

So far I really like this tool. I have owned many of these type air blow guns in the past years, but so far, this is the best one I have every owned. It seals very well with the air hose. I really like also the way you can make it shorter and longer just by loosening a knurl nut on the barrel, I was able to blow debris off my riding mower without bending over. That is a real plus for me with a bad back. The hanger hook is neat too. All you have to do is turn it without having to twist the air hose. At this point, there are no leaks. I will buy another if needed and can locate the same seller. I highly recommend this item.

Powermate Px P018-0084SP 100% Full Synthetic Air Compressor Oil, Review:

Two years ago I changed my oil in my compressor to the Purple brand of synthetic. The purple brand worked good in warmer weather, but in cold weather I would trip the breaker trying to get the compressor started up. I didn't expect things to change much with just a different brand of synthetic oil. So I changed the oil yesterday to this Powermate 100% full synthetic and this cold morning today the compressor started up without any problems. No breaker trips! This is the oil that I am going to use from now on.

The price for the 100% synthetic Powermate on Amazon is less than the price you would pay for the Powermate syn-blend at your local home depot stores. Syn-blend that costs more locally vs the better 100% full synthetic that is cheaper thru Amazon..... not a hard choice!

Winterize Sprinkler Systems And Outdoor Faucets: Air Compressor Quick-Connect Plug To Female Garden Faucet Blow Out Adapter Fitting (Solid Lead-Free Brass) Review:

This makes it super easy to winterize your system by yourself.

My shutoff valve box has a nipple for doing this, but it's something other than the typical compressor quick connect type fitting. Since I already have an outdoor faucet down in the garden that is part of the irrigation side of the shutoff valve, I can easily attach this adapter and use my compressor to blow out my sprinklers. Note that if you don't have a faucet on the sprinkler side, you can get parts at a hardware store to fit this adapter onto one of the sprinkler feeders itself, but you will need a way to force that valve open all the time during blow-out. This is not something most sprinkler controllers let you do.

Note that you do NOT want to use this on a regular outdoor faucet on the house side of the shutoff valve!

Steps to use this:

1. Shut off the main sprinkler valve. This is probably at the street near your meter.
2. Open the outdoor faucet and let as much water drain out by gravity as possible
3. Attach this adapter, and then attach the compressor to it
4. Start up the compressor and let it charge the tank.
5. One by one, go through and open each sprinkler zone valve and let it run until it's just blowing air
6. When you're done, close the faucet

Note that you will need a "real" compressor for this. My 1 gallon craftsman compressor has a hard time keeping the line at 20psi while doing this. Be careful to stop and let the compressor cool off every few minutes.

Capri Tools 2-Way Air Blow Gun with Adjustable Air Flow and Extended Nozzle Review:

I work on small engines, as such I use pneumatic air tools to do a lot of my work. I got this air gun because it was recommended to me. I really like the design of this tool. It has a nice rubber grip on the handle, the trigger is really nice and easy to operate. Its neat that the air coupler can be installed on either the bottom or top of the tool, depending on weather or not your air line comes from the ceiling or not. It also has a nice hook on the top that can be used to hang the tool up. While I would have preferred the nozzle to be a couple of inches longer for convenience, it is however long enough for most cases.

One of this tools coolest features, is its adjustable flow knob, most air guns do not have this feature. Unfortunately, this is also where the drawback of this tool is. Since the knob turns infinitely with no stop, I just assume that this would provide for infinite flow adjustment, but it does not. Once you find where the sweet spot is, a small bit of turning clockwise makes the flow really small, and a small bit turn counter-clockwise, gives you full blast. So in all actuality, there is very little, and full blast, with no adjustment in between. I will still enjoy this tool, but I expected more then just two settings!

The overall quality of the tool is very good, it feels pretty durable, although the trigger handle itself is plastic, the trigger mechanism is metal. And its really nice that this tool comes with its own coupler. In most cases when I've bought air tools, I had to supply my own coupler. I definitely recommend this tool, but one should be aware, that the flow adjustment isn't as good as you would expect it to be. This is a tool that should be in every home owners, and mechanics tool box. 4 out of 5 stars.

CRAFTSMAN Air Compressor, 6 gallon, Pancake, Oil-Free with 13 Piece Accessory Kit (CMEC6150K) Review:

I bought this compressor for one project at work. Then, since I had it, I decided to try and use it to blow out my 11 zone sprinkler system.

Most of the articles I found (and even a couple of YouTube videos ) said that you can't use this kind of compressor to blow out a sprinkler system. The reason is that this tiny little compressor doesn't push much air, and as a result it can't sustain the pressure needed to "push" the water thru the sprinklers. For the most part, this is correct.

However, if you only run the compressor for 20-30 seconds, the pressure stays high enough in the system to pop up all the heads and push out all the water. And if you repeat this trick 3 times, you'll get all the water out.

So after I connected the compressor to my system, I used my phone (which connects to my BHYVE sprinkler controller) to turn one zone on and off.

- I'd wait for the pressure in the compressor to hit 60 PSI
- Activate the zone for 20-30 seconds, watch the spray
- Turn off the zone, wait for the pressure in the compressor to climb back up to 60 PSI
- Repeat

The downside to this process is that it took a long damn time. I'm sure I looked like a major goober standing outside next to the compressor with my phone in my hand, running back and forth. But I was able to read some emails while the compressor did it's thing, so it was fine. And, after an hour or so, I was all done.

I think that if I didn't have the sprinkler controller that connected to my phone, this would have been much harder. But because I do, this little compressor worked great.

Industrial Air Blow Gun with Brass Adjustable Air Flow Nozzle and 2 Steel Air flow Extension, Pneumatic Air Compressor Accessory Tool Dust Cleaning Air Blower Gun Review:

After receiving the air gun the quality is lighter than expected the front threads for the attachments are very course and take a bit to screw on the attachments also the longer blow attachment is not square to the gun it’s not bent but when it was inserted into the thread part it was not seated square over all I guess it just blows air, after contacting the seller a replacement was sent which is much better now is least it square to the gun and as far as the air quality control the adjustable tip is nice and overall with the attachments this is a great air gun.

WYNNsky Air Tool and Compressor Accessory Kit, 1/4 Inch NPT 17 Piece Air Hose Fittings with Blow Gun, Tire Gauge and Storage Case Review:

This kit is a 1/4 in NPT adaptable, and it easily fits into my Porter Cable hose. It comes with a lot of connections, and the air chuck and blow gun I wanted. All parts are well made, very strong, and have sealant already on the threaded connections. I am very pleased with my purchase. Great value and great product.

WYNNsky 3/8" X 25ft PVC Air Compressor Hose Kit With 17 Piece Air Tool and Air Compressor Accessories Kit Review:

In 40 degree weather the hose is very stiff. Not what expected. Manufacturer should mention do not use in cool weather. Spend the extra and buy Goodyear rubber hose. In this case with connections included not worth spending time to package again to send back!
I have to admit I was a little harsh with the above review. PVC is stiffer than Rubber and I need to except that and I also knew that. Wynnsky does sell a very good quality rubber hose also. Didn't mean to trash the WYNNsky name. They are known for a number of quality products. They did contact me and offer a refund. Very Good Customer Service.
Thanks WYNNsky

Winterize Sprinkler Systems and Outdoor Faucets: Air Compressor Quick-Connect Plug To Female Garden Hose Faucet Blow Out Adapter with Shut Off Valve (Lead-Free Brass) Review:

I have a water line routed through my garage to an outside garden hose valve. The line is equipped with an indoor block valve and an exterior vent valve to help drain the line, but there always seems to be enough water left to freeze and break an elbow. So I bought this adapter so I could blow the line from the vent valve to the garden hose valve.

The tricky part is making the conversion from the air compressor hose to the garden hose fitting in the water line. This adapter solves the problem elegantly! Definitely buy the version with the ball valve since the air hose quick connector provides full air pressure as soon as it is connected. The quick coupler, valve, and female garden hose connector are all high quality bright brass. The hose is pressure capable and offers a short bend radius.

The only, and admittedly minor, complaint is that the garden hose connector does not rotate, so you must use the quick coupling collar to prevent kinking the air hose. This is not really a problem, just a minor inconvenience, so I did not down rate the device for this.

Also note that you will either need to connect this device to a standard garden valve or to a soldered valve equipped with a male garden hose connector (see the photo). If you are connecting to a soldered valve, you will need to install a 1/2" solder X 1/2" male NPT fitting off the water line, then screw on a 1/2" female NPT X 3/4" male garden hose adapter. These two adapters should be available at Home Depot or at a well equipped hardware store. I searched unsuccessfully on the Internet and at multiple stores for a 1/2" solder X 3/4" male garden hose adapter to make conversion in one step. But the two step method works fine.
