This AC converter was a terrific investment for our Brother P-Touch PT-D210 label machine. We recently upgraded from a P-Touch unit with no cable capability that was the base level. With the PT-D210, label creation is much more practical thanks to the possibility of using an AC cord. A vivid LCD screen and smooth label printing and feeding are provided by the power cord. It plugs in without difficulty and powers on right away. Not to mention battery waste, extra power, and never being caught mid-project with dead batteries, this is well worth the money just in terms of money saved on batteries. It is less portable, indeed, but it is only a minor drawback. For reference, I've included a few photos of the cord using my specific label maker.

After my vacation to Spain, France, and Italy, I received this. In general, type E/F works for France, Spain, and Germany, while type L works for Italy. For France, Spain, Germany, and Italy, type C works, but as other commenters have mentioned, it can fit a little slackly in a type E/F socket. Due to this, I also purchased a set of three E/F adapters. Italy is happy with Type C.I began the journey by packing a single E/F adaptor and a three-outlet extension wire. We quickly used up the three outlets, so I had to buy more adapters. Although I still plan to bring an extension cord, I now believe it would be more practical to bring many adapters and place them about the room. As I attempted to plug in all the laptop chargers, mobile phone chargers, my wife's hair iron, and other devices, the extension cable idea resulted in a huge mess in the middle of the room.I appreciate that these plugs are made in the USA. The "ultra universal" adapters with all the odd front side plugs are made to please everyone, but I don't need to put British equipment into European outlets. I just require US outlets. Additionally, some of my American appliances have polarized connectors, which the adapters I purchased abroad didn't always support.I'll talk about technical and safety issues last. European plugs are made with adequate grounds, are designed for safety, and physically prevent children from touching hot electrical wires while plugged into the wall. It seems that in the USA, we leave things up to Darwinism. The issue is that these adapters make it very simple to connect 110v USA products into 220v European electricity, which could damage them, shock you, or start fires. They also automatically eliminate all of the safety features of European plugs. Here, you are in control of your safety.Every appliance you bring to Europe should CLEARLY state on the power supply that it accepts power from 100 volts to 240 volts. Don't bring it if it doesn't. Some appliances, like my hair dryer, really have a switch for 110v or 220v power. When you pack it in your suitcase, switch it to 220 volts. Be mindful that the ground pin on these adapters (we're referring to the type C here) is not connected to anything. You should keep your appliances out of the bathroom and away from water, and they should only have plastic covers, not any metal.

This is being used to recharge several of my Home Theater Master MX-880 remote controls. Since I purchased the remotes used, I only got one genuine, functional charger. I've used various chargers I found at a thrift shop, so I thought I'd try this universal one with a variety of tips. You should be aware that the polarity cannot be reversed. The eight tips' connectors are spherical, therefore the outer shell that plugs into the device is always polarized negatively ("-"). Since the official MX-880 is a "-" negative shell, this worked well. I've included a picture of a Radio Shack DC universal tip with reversible polarity as an illustration.

I recently bought a laser-etched sphere through Kickstarter, and it comes with an LED-illuminated base. If I only have the sphere lit when I'm at work, I can run through a set of three AAA cells every week. The bulk box of batteries from Amazon is functional, but I'd prefer not to keep throwing them in the trash. With a variety of DC power plugs, the search for a switching power supply got underway. There are MANY different power supply available. I selected this one since it was affordable, offered variable DC output, and replaceable DC tips. The power plugs are polarized, making it impossible to change the polarity, and voltage selection is simple. This explains why the versatility rating was only four stars. There are several devices that employ the opposite polarity even if the nominal power standard is pin-plus and shell-negative. Unpolarized tips would win that market and make this power source entirely universal.The image shows the power supply operating and lighting up the sphere. I'm hesitant to leave it on all the time right now, but I will get used to it. I have a second Milky Way sphere at my house. To drive that one, I'm going to acquire a different power supply. I will be content as long as the smoke doesn't come out just yet.
